Predictions for 2009

Do you have any predictions for this coming year?

I predict that Funi will acquire the new animated special and put it out on dvd within the year, Viz will come out with more non-Daizenshuu related DB releases, and the "live action" movie will fall through the cracks--eaten alive by Hannah Montana and Wolverine, BUT still cause this forum to crash extra-early in the months of both March and April.

I predict that FUNi will announce Blu-Ray Season Sets of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT.

I also predict Burst Limit 2 and possibly a Dragonball DS 2.

Lastly, I predict that FUNimation will still give us a, "We're still working on it," in relation to Dragonball episodes 1-13.

Ooh, cool idea.

I think we'll get at least one more English Daizenshuu, but we won't make any progress on the first 13 episodes and movie of Dragon Ball. And y'know what? I think another DBZ release will be announced, if not released. I wanna call that right now.

As for the live-action movie, I think it'll do well, but be slammed by reviewers and won't be the blockbuster it seems to be trying to be.

I predict the Dragon Ball movie will have about 28% on Rotten Tomatoes, 5.9 on IMDb, and gross about $220 million (I'll measure in USD) Worldwide.

And I also predict that despite that, I will enjoy it to some extent.

I predict that the movie will prompt some more renewed interest in the series.

I predict we will see some figurines mixing the movie's style with the original style (regular Goku and Roshi in their movie outfits, stuff like that, etc.... which I would like to see).

I predict that Viz will release a new data book, Neko Majin and Kajika

The Live-Action movie will turn out realy bad, and the Japanese audience will demand a Japanese made one from Toei ((Just like what happened to Godzilla))

I predict VIZ will put out Neko Majin in one volume and will put out one more Daizenshuu, at least.

As for Japanese games, I think it's in order for Burst Limit 2.
Last, but not least, I think we may get the new special on dvd from Funimation.

For DVD releases, I predict AB's DBZ collector set 1 with episodes 1-117 that's supposed to come out in March will get delayed. As gaming news it's not chocking if Burst Limit 2 comes out, along with Dragonball DS 2.

Funimation will anounce SOMETHING about Dragonball sets.
Viz will announce 3 new runs of Dragonball manga, including the new original " way it was meant to be read " manga, the remastered widescreen manga, and the bumpy writing manga, for the visually impaired!

Dragonball Evolution will do gang busters but end up getting torn a new one by all of the movie critics. ( The best part about this movie is waiting for Spill.com's review on it!)

Dragonball episodes 1-13 won't be released and we'll get the typical blow off answer.

New Dragonball games for the PSP.

Tenkaichi will get a spin off installment like Shin Budokai to the Budokai series.

Viz will publish Neko Majin Z when they decide to take a break from sucking Naruto's chakra stick.

No more Daizenshuus released here, at least for 2009.

Blu Ray season sets and double pack movies announced.

Shit ton of more CD boxsets will be released for the Japanese market rehashing the same songs.

I predict that I'll win the lottery and that FUNimation will re-release DBZ again in fullscreen sets along with a great big giant complete widescreen set.

And we will see a Burst Limit 2 and Dragon Ball DS 2

- Funimation will have news about the Dragon Ball Season sets.
- With all the season sets for Z, GT and the movies out by summer time, Funimation will be eager to get SOMETHING with the Z name out, so cue the new special's DVD release.
- Burst Limit 2's announcement (but I don't quite know if it'll be released)
- Dragon Ball DS 2's announcement + Probable release (I imagine it will be a much larger game than the first DBDS, and will go from the Red Ribbon Army saga to the end of the Piccolo Daimaou saga, thus bridging into Dragon Ball Z: Story)

I predict that Dragon Ball DS 2 will cover the entire Red Ribbon Army saga all the way through the resurrection of Bora.

I predict that Tenkaichi 4 will be released and will be a disappointment, at least by my standards.

I hope that FUNimation will acquire the rights to the OVA and Jump Special. I also hope that FUNimation will acquire the rights to Dragon Ball's first 13 eps and 1st movie and release it in a full screen DVD and Blu-Ray box set.

I hope that the economy doesn't collapse making all of our hopes and predictions irrelevant.

Since when did VIZ releace Daizenshuu's in the states, you guys do know that the VIZ bigs are almost like the Kanzenban releaces they don't equivilate to what Daizenshuu's are... sure they have coloured pages so I suppose that's easy to get confused about ;?
