It's in like, response to that really over-the-top scene of Bulma's motorbike forming itself in a way that emulates the capsules from the original series. Whereas in the original Dragon Ball, Goku is completely awestruck by this and thinks Bulma's a witch and stuff, movie Goku simply states "...cool." Because he's a hollywood bad boy and showing emotion isn't cool. It just seems so deadpan and, as I said, badboy-ish and really doesn't fit with the curious and excitable Goku we know.

On the "high school" photos:

-Any orange on "Goku" is appreciated.
-I wish my science classes had light-boards like that. The light-boards from my high school were fairly clunky and weren't on an angle at all.
-"Goku" being bored in school is in character for him.
-Got a bit of a five-o-clock shadow for a "high school student". ^^; While age can usually be hidden while voice acting, I still don't know how they're going to pull off a 26 year old man as (at the very most) someone who's 18.

I'd still love to hear some in-character dialogue from him though.

Yeah, boring and disinterested.

Seriously, it seems like every new snapshot that comes up with Chatwin involved, he looks terribly bored and not interested in what he's doing.

And school wasn't needed to give us an idea of what Goku's character was like. That's a silly excuse.

Goku WOULD be utterly bored in school. If those portions of the movie do a good job of portraying him as out-of-place and unsuited to school life, then that's appropriate and I should enjoy them.

But he looks pretty "into it" during the fight scene, though. Didja seem him smiling in the trailer as he was flipping around and kicking them?

Does anyone else wonder why Chatku's cosplaying as the Fonz?

I think it's the most epic way to imply a series jumped the shark ever.

Now, if we can get Chatku on some water skis...
