Obviously, the real reason for Piccolo's actions is so he can get his own field of delicious strawberries.

Oh hey, leaked storyboard: http://dragonball.zeldac.com/2009/01/dr ... toryboard/

Not that there was any doubt in my mind that I would see this movie, I feel even more excited now for some reason, even though I haven't really learned anything new.

I just realized part of the reason I feel so awful about "live action" Gohan dying is because he kind of reminds me of the real Goku. (If Goku was that age.)

>_<

I am really gonna miss that guy.

Grandpa Gohan was also the only one who actually appealed to me in the trailer.. :p Even though I'm not a big fan of him in the anime/manga (probably because the very limited screentime XD)

Just reading off the first post... it's so weird... Goku feels so much more like Gohan in this movie (except that he isn't coping by becoming a tokusatsu-esque super hero).
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I agree. He really seems like a likable character. He didn't stand a chance getting ganged up on by Mai and Piccolo. It's all Chatwin's fault! Running off to party like that! Family comes first! The exchange between Goku and Bulma was cool though.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Well he did die in the manga from being crushed.

By a giant super powered monkey alien.

Wow. Okay, if this script is genuine, then...wow. I'm more disappointed than I was to begin with.

Anyone who said the trailer wasn't indicative of Goku's nature is pretty much proven wrong. Goku is Clark Kent from Smallville and Peter Parker from the Spider-man movies put in a blender. On top of that...
Goku has a vision. A quick series of shots. An asteroid totally engulfed in flame enters the Earth's atmosphere. It burrows into the ground. In the cracked burning rock, a MONSTROUS RED EYE opens.
...he apparently has Sauron from Lord of the Rings chasing him :P

The whole thing reeks of "generic action flick." And seriously, Bulma training her laser-sighted pistol on Goku's head? What next, is she gonna curve bullets? >_>;;

Highly, highly unimpressed. Before I at least thought the film might surprise me. Now...I'm pretty certain it won't even get me to go see it.

They have already announced that they have plans for two sequels.

And this time Lord Piccolo destroyed a house while he was in it. I'm sure there was more to it than just the house falling on him.

And even if he were a super martial artist, it sounds like he couldn't move at the time. In the anime someone of his strength probably wouldn't have died from that, but I get the impression everyone is being toned down for the movie. I doubt we'll see bullets fly off Goku's forehead either.

She has to do something to him because there is a photo of Chatwin's stunt double and Bulma in the house together.

Yeah, I just kind of doubt she'll shoot him in the head like in the manga.

...I could be wrong, but I can't imagine it happening.

Well I hope that if she doesn't shoot him in the head, she'll at least "shoot" him.

I just this second was going to edit my post to propose that possibility, but decided it didn't fit with the rest of what I was saying and left it.

I wondered if Lord Piccolo just killed Gohan with his ki and the house collapsing was a dramatic result of that, rather than the cause of the death.

Edit:

I figure she might shoot at him, but not hit him. And/Or maybe he'll instinctively use ki to stop the bullet eventually. He'll do something to make her decide he's useful enough to take along.

Where did this come from? I just find it odd that sites that typically get script drafts haven't posted this, but you have O_o;

Do they visit a lot of different locations in the movie? Does Goku still have his Saiyan appetite? How is the tournament integrated into the plot?

I got it from someone, that's all I'm saying. He has provided me with other stuff as well.
