I dunno, he was smart enough to realize Paragus was leaving in a one man pod.Deep Thought wrote:I just came to the shocking realization that Broly is basically Super Sayajin Nappa. Look:

Why does everyone love Broly?

Well, Broly's obviously got some sense, it just goes out the window sometimes. When you think about it, the facts that 1) Broly is much stronger than he should have been 2) He really enjoys toying with his victims and drawing out their deaths and sufferings 3) unremorsefully killed his close companion (father) 4) was defeated by Goku and 5) has a long-running beef with Goku, I see Broly being much more similar to Vegeta than Nappa.Deep Thought wrote:I just came to the shocking realization that Broly is basically Super Sayajin Nappa. There was a thread not too long ago about character sheets and someone posted it there.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

He's only really truly gaga-"KAKAROTT-OOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!111shiftone"-batshit-insane in Movie 10. In Movie 8 he was only really "crazy" with Goku, while with the others he was cunning and cruel. And in Movie 11... "You're a swamp-thing".mAcChaos wrote:Don't forget that he's insane.

I don't have a fangasm every time I see Broly, but I did like Movies 8 and 10. He was a neat idea, but not really much of a in-depth character. Then again, which of the movie villains where?
Anyway, I agree with Acid Reign's observations. Broly is not the most in-depth character but he fit the role he was given well. In all his appearances (including Movie 11), it required a combined effort to defeat him thus securing his "power is maximum" status ( sorry, I know it's become cliche
). Also, when I first saw him under his father's control, Broly struck me as a tragic character. That is until he decided to go psycho.
There was potential to make him have more "depth" but he just became the stock super powerful monster stand in that we get from the later Z movies.
