DB Parodies

Post by Super Sonic » Thu Oct 07, 2004 11:44 pm

Not sure if anyone else knew about these, but New Grounds has a lot of DBZ parodies on their site, including one of the Budweiser "Whazzup" commercials that's hilarious.

And EX, Julian, if this sort of thing isn't allowed on the forum, sorry and I won't do it again if it is.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone's already seen those. The page hasn't been updated with anything new in a long time though, and the quality of the existing movies aren't great either.

The only recent DBZ parody I can think of getting a kick out of was on Kids Next Door (a show that I'm not that fond of.)

Spain had a cool DB parody fan-manga that was actually published every few months! It was called "Dragon Fall"... I have a few issues, and they are hilarious! I should scan some stuff and post it!

And as for Dragon Fall, aren't there already a lot of scans in the index SonGokuGT?

Yeah, They have the first issue up, and the second for download, and they are translated to French. I could do a very accurate translation from the original Castillian Spanish source. I'll try to get my uncle to buy me the Graphic Novels they just released.

It would be the first English version of it I know of... I've only seen it scanlated into French and Portuguese, but even then it didn;t go past a few issues...

I know a tad bit of Spanish also so, I could stab around the raw thing better than the French one for sure.

Ah, what better a way to combine my two biggest fandoms then to have one parody the other. ^^; Actually, I e-mailed the writers after it aired, they're both big DBZ fans.

I absolutely hate CKND. I think its the worst original cartoon CN has had in a long time. No wait, I take that back, Foster is worse....., but CKND is still up there.

Well, *I* am amused by it, and so somehow I think that's all that matters. Excuse me for not leaving the KND fandom because you say it's bad, that is, please don't think badly of me for not taking your word as law. ^^

Do you have a copy of that e-mail per chance?

Not anymore. ^^;;; This was when the episode first aired, quiet a while back. I e-mailed saying something like "I love DBZ, so I was really amused by your parody, it was pretty dead on."

And the reply was something like "Thanks for liking it, Tom [the other writer] and I are fans of DBZ, so between us we tried to make a good parody of it."

I don't remember exactly, though. Sorry...

I read DragonFall before. There was once a site that had most of the issues scanned in. Sadly they were all in Spanish (I think) which I can't speak so I didn't understand much, plus the site is down. Still good though.
