Yeah, my Vegeta is that kind of voice you can only really do at a certain time of day, when your voice has been worn out JUST enough

And with my microphone currently broken, I wont be able to record.

I can do a pretty good Nappa, but he isn't in GT, now is he?

Well, Nappa is in 1 episode of GT, only to be killed by Vegeta, again...

For like, 50 seconds
All he does is chuckle, scream and die.

Innagadadavida, I pm-ed you some scriptage.

Also, I recorded some voices (Gohan, Vegeta, Baby) this morning and will post a Youtube clip when I get a chance to edit. I was displeased to find that there are no dub-titles on the new GT sets, but naturally glad to see that they left the proper Japanese subs intact.

EDIT: Here's the Youtube link:

My microphone sucks, but I have no problem buying a new one for this. Forgive the video quality; this was a speedy hack-n-dice job.

I really liked Gohan and Vegeta the most, Baby was good too. Since we need a Vegeta and Gohan for the first episode, we could use you. But, the final verdict is up to Innagadadavida.

I've also reduced my Major roles down to 3. They're Giru/Gill, Baby and Yi Xing Long. I was planning on doing Baby's voice; but, I'm not sure.

The Gohan's very good Helldog. :)
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Updated main post with a list of voice spots open. There may be more in the future, but this is all we're worried about now.

It's refreshing to see people trying something other than Chris Sabat impersonations for Vegeta, if I've got one problem with DBZ Abridged it's that.

I really want to see some talented people take Vegeta's voice in a direction other than "Obnoxious chain smoking midget", I'm yet to hear an English Vegeta that I find even remotely bearable.

I remember hating Vegeta's voice for the longest time back in the day, but it seemed like I was alone there, so I always try to imitate the (second) dub voice. My natural voice is deep (my Gohan is me trying to raise it slightly), so maybe I'll try to make a different Vegeta dub. Although, I think one of the main reasons DBZ abridged succeeds is because the voices are so similar that it creates resonance with the dub fans (or at least those who are accostomed to it like me.)

What do you guys think a proper American-English-speaking Vegeta should sound like?

I personally think it sounded better the way it was. Sounded more snarky and sarcastic. :P

Gotta agree with you there.

Well, remember how I said I was gonna do Piccolo closer to Scott McNeil style? I tried imitating it, but I think I failed, so I hope at least it's in spirit of Mr. McNeil's Piccolo. I wanna know you guys think. I was also thinking about making fun of the Portuguese version of Piccolo.

Piccolo Voice Example (It's the Let that Child Alone scene):

Well, at the VAA for Vegeta auditions for the serious DBGT Fandub, here's the guideline I put. But, I gave up looking for a Vegeta there, most of the auditions were just Sabat imitations, when I clearly stated no Sabat imitations please.

Voice Type: Deep, Arrogant, Cocky, etc. DON'T imitate the Dub, you can try the Japanese, I just think for once there should be a Vegeta that doesn't sound like Chris Sabat or Brian Drummond (No, offense to them.).
