Wait since they showed the trailer with this kiddie movie does that mean Evolution is going to be rated PG? Cause if is you can just hang it up for this movie then. :?
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

...Why?

Dragon Ball is a cartoon for children. Why is it bad to make the movie for children?

But if you were to make it into a LA with all the content, it wouldn't be rated PG now, would it?

Well I mean yeah but it's a cartoon for Japanese children. They aren't as tight about violence in Japan as we are in America.

I don't see why not, unless we get something gruesome, like Piccolo's kill.

I'm pretty sure it'll be PG-13, don't Bulma and Mai fight half naked?

I think it's PG-13, but trust me, since I work at a theater, I can tell you, PG-13 does not deter kids at all.

Uh...I'm surprised anyone would expect this movie not to be accessible to kids. What kind of level of violence are you expecting? A hole through Piccolo is probably the most we'll get.

Not at all. Naruto is more like a ripoff of Hunter x Hunter in most ways.

Avatar is more like...Journey to the West, I guess. But so is everything if you think too hard about it.

I'm surprised B thought it dragged on, especially compared to Dragon Ball. Each book (season) is 20 episodes long and mostly has a point to it, although admittedly book 1 is probably the slowest. There are 3 books in total and the series does have a proper ending. It's pretty impressive considering it was made by Nickelodeon, the story flows well once it really gets going and the fight scenes are amazingly detailed and choreographed, even more so than most fighting anime I'd say.

The final fight was EPIC. DBZ worthy, IMO. It wasn't nearly as long as I would have liked it.

Was it really that violent? Only two moments stick out in my head and that's Dodoria killing Cargo and Freeza impaling Kurririn. Nothing too mind numbingly awful.

Dodoria snapping that Nameks neck, Freeza ripping Nails arm off, Freeza fucking up Vegeta...

Ah yes, not to mention Dodoria impaling his arm through a random Namek. Freeza beating up Vegeta wasn't that awful to me. I thought him snacking on a crab was far more disturbing then his rampages.

There was Piccolo's chest receiving a finger beam.

Then Freeza getting chopped in half.

Krillin getting exploded.

"Pop goes the weasel"
-wait that belongs in the other thread.

Maybe I'm desensitized but I never found those particularly gruesome or violent.

When I hear the phrase "extreme violence" I think of
-Disembowled Saibaman by Vegeta's finger beam
-Cell Jr's head being popped off in a gush of blood and brains
-Dodoria killing Cargo
-Videl's fight against angry bald majin slave whoms name I can't be arsed to spell correctly.

Gohan got his neck snapped in the Namek saga, too.

In before Rocketman exclaiming delight.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Although I think I prefer some of the less ultra-powered fights, where style and technique mattered more than raw power. Oh well, raw power does make for epic.

ZOMG DBZ IS NOT FOR KIDS IT'S FOR GROWN UPS. GAWL.

On a serious note, I'm glad people outside the Internet are enjoying the trailer.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.
