It's great fun so long as you don't think too much about it.

I like some of the concepts that came of it, but I don't like how they were executed.

Universe-wide Dragon Ball Hunt: Awesome
Turning Goku into a child in order to achieve that goal: Horrible.
Not sending Vegeta--who is clearly the most knowledgeable about outer space--into space with Goku, Trunks, and Pan: Almost as horrible as turning Goku into a child.
On hiatus.

Putting the original DB and Z aside, I thought it was pretty fun. Plus it has awesome music by Akihito Tokunaga. :D

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: It has quite a lot of plot holes, and quite a lot of things that don't make perfect sense. If you think about it hard enough you can come up with excuses for the plot holes, but that's true about almost anything with plot holes so long as it has enough fantasy elements to work with and theory about.

It's not perfect, but I've seen worse things.

Edit: Thanks DBHD, I forgot. It has some of the best music in the whole franchise.

The reason I enjoy it as much as I do (which isn't too much) is that I look at it as a nice little bonus series or side story... much like the movies. If you try and watch it as a continuation of the manga or of DBZ, your brain will explode, and I think that the people who realize that are the ones that enjoy it the most.

Hell naw! The "story" was uninteresting and unstable, the characters were hollow shells of themselves, PAN, the coloring schemes were quite disturbing to me at times, and Super Saiyajin 4... eewwwww! I don't even care that Toriyama had a hand in some of it, just downright horrible by almost any standard.

But yeah, Dan Dan Kokoro is a pretty sweet song and I will admit to having sung karaoke for it... a lot.

Oh, and I was somewhat touched by the ending as well.

Oh yeah, forgot about the music. Great music. Sole reason I waited for the new Season Sets to buy any of GT.

Its not as good as DB/DBZ but its still, to me, a decent sucessor. Even though things could have been executed better, it was fun. And if you look at it as a stand alone anime, its even better. That, and that Goku vs Uub fight in the beginning was amazing in terms of animation.

Exactly. I used to hate it. But now that I have the dub and the original music, if I don't think about it at all I can really enjoy the series....But then sometimes I think of Pan and I hate it again.

I absolutely hate GT in almost every aspect from the designs to the animation.

The only redeeming factors are the music and the ending...when the episode ended i actually found myself crying...

I used to hate GT with a passion and would be real quick to debunk anyone who said it was a canon sequel to Z, and referred it as canon as the movies.

But within recent months, I've lightened up A LOT. After viewing quite a few threads about which movies could fit and how, and then the first 40 episodes of GT thread, I've changed my mind and feel the Black Star & Bebi sagas of GT are worthy successors to the original work. Almost all of the plotholes can be explained away.

Everything after episode 41 has too many plotholes. Super 17 saga just kind of ruined it. Shadow Dragon saga would be okay if it wasn't completely dependent on Super 17 taking place. However, the sagas are still very entertaining in their own right.

The ending is something Toriyama didn't give us; closure. Or at least, I didn't feel too much when Goku randomly abandoned his family to eagerly train Uub and then the special message saying there will be more trouble for our cast but we can't be shown anymore so we'll have to discover their troubles for ourselves. GT, at the very least, showed us that trouble and gave us a moderately happy ending with no promises of anything else afterward so you know it is finally over.

I like GT. I like the stories and characters as well as the music in it. It had many continuity errors and stuff that just made no sense, but I was able to get over them.

My only true gripe about the show was that everyone but Goku was entirely useless! Imagine how awesome it could have been to see Gohan kick some ass! How about a grown-up Gotenks? More from Uub? Super Saiyan Pan? They dropped the ball entirely.

To be fair, Toei thought they were giving the fans exactly what they wanted; Goku to the extreme.

I like GT. It's horribly flawed but it's not inflicted with some of the issues of the original and Z animé which annoyed me more. Long filler between arcs, dragging out battles while waiting for the original source to pull ahead. The music is good and the animation is decent.

I hate the "Goku's a child again" thing though, which means I can never seem to fully enjoy an episode.

I always liked Goku as a kid, so I guess I wasn't too bothered by him changing into one again.

If I watch GT like a mindless action cartoon I enjoy it for the most part, but if I hold it to the same standard as DB/Z, I find it hard to watch.

If you ignore the staggering amount of inconsistencies, it's great.

-Comedy feel of original Dragon Ball
-High-speed action of Dragon Ball Z
-Conception of the Dragon Balls, from the Black Stars to the "negative energy" concept.
-Pan is a really good character.
-Better ending than Z had, definately.

If you can handle annoying crap like people being wished back to life when they shouldn't be able to be, Vegeta's hair, No halos on the dead, rehashed ending, and the impossibilty of a Super Saiyan 4, there's a lot of enjoyment value.
