I think it's funny because he was in no damn way "emo". I don't think the whiners even watched the movie, 'cause Parker is happier, more confident and more ballsy with the black suit than without. He's not sitting in his room crying while listening to Linkin Park and cutting himself.

Jeez, I disagree with all of your Gohan hating, but I think you just won me over by making the most sense I've seen about that movie in a long time (still....Gohan 4eva!!!!).

And I don't even mind the movie. Sure, it could have done with a little more of some things, and a little less of others, but I had an entertaining time, and I'm definitely looking forward to the 4th movie.

Yes, he got a little emotional when the girl he had loved since he was a kid and had finally won the heart of dumped him when he was planning to propose to her.... wow, what a whiny asshole!

God I hate how that lame emo fad was all in its obnoxious glory back then, everyone chucking that stupid label on him just because of a damn hairstyle and then they begin exaggerating the subject like he fit the whole package of some whiny person trapped in anxiety.

Even if we was depressed and stuff, that wouldn't make him "emo."

I hate this modern pretence where any fictional character who isn't shitting rainbows is suddenly some "sad emo dude."

Mix that with black hair and a slight fringe, and the masses will ironically be all whiny about how supposedly whiny this character is.

I'd bet if Piccolo had a fringe he would be considered by many as "that emo alien from Dragon Ball Z." (Trying to steer this back on topic

The difference is Piccolo doesn't sit around going
"UUUUGH I CANT ESCAPE MY DESTINY" or "UUUUGHHHGGGHHH I HAVE SOMEONE I MUST BEAT BUT I'M TOO WEAK. LET ME SIT HERE AND CRY ABOUT IT!" He doesn't whine moan and bitch about everything.

Maybe I'm just completely sick of the whole cliche' in anime of "OMG LOOK AT the TOTALLY KAWAII BISHIE IN THE CORNER WITH HIS ARMS FOLDED AND HIS BLACK HAIR IN HIS EYES SCOWLING AT THE CARE FREE HERO! OMG HE'S WHINING ABOUT HOW HIS PARENTS DIDN'T HUG HIM ENOUGH SO DEEEEEEEEEEP!"

Vegeta almost fits that description but again he isn't constantly bitching. In fact he's only really quiet in the Trunks saga and even then he cocks off once he learns what to make out of the situation.

edit: As for Peter being emo I do disagree with that. I may not like Spider-man 3 a lot but no I never saw him as emo, just annoying.

You should see the early issues of Amazing Spidey. When he first went up against Doc Ock, he got trapped easily, bitch-slapped, and thrown away like garbage, and thus started crying about how he got his butt kicked.

I always saw it as more of a little joke about his hair being in his face and wearing all black than an actual representation of who he is as a character at that point.

It's just something to laugh about.
