Goku's SSJ Transformation ( 3 Versions ) YTHD

Post by DBHighDefinition » Fri Jan 23, 2009 5:23 pm

I've finally got around to uploading this, it's Goku's SSJ transformation with the 3 audio tracks on YT in HD. It makes for great comparison purposes, seeing them play one after the other like this.

Too bad Funimation isn't doing the Dragon Ball Z Season Sets in 720p. Those actually were really nice looking and sounding, with the original version being the best one in my opinion (and with the English voices and Japanese music being the second).

When I watched this, I have to admit, the HD really shows the series age. Goku's aura looked really nice though.

Yeah, but it's beautiful I suppose in a way. Like when Goku screams, you can see the remarkable paint brush strokes of the aura in fine detail, but in the BG you can see a load of dirt and splodges.

Great comparison video, and I love the nice quality. I have to say I like the Jap audio/Jap BGM track the most, if only for the beastly yell Goku makes at 06:10 (I highly doubt that was actually Mosaka Nozawa).

Yes, those frames and the ones where the hazy waves are surrounding Goku [examp. 1 - 2] are my favorite out of that entire saga. You can just tell that a ton of effort was put into animating those cels; and here's a screenshot of that beautiful frame of Goku going Super Saiya-jin where the brush strokes from the original cel can be clearly seen from the Dragon Box release:

I love how Goku's hair falls back to its normal form, the ground seals up again and all the rocks vanish right before he transforms.

I'm sure it's symbolic of a bird or something.

Amazing.

I especially liked the part where you ripped a clip from a standard definition dvd, uploaded it to Youtube and labelled it as 720p.

I do that because everybody else who has the HD option does it. 8)
