Yeah, Andrew Chandler's narration was epic. It may be because I was watching a shit fansub, and I saw it second, but Jouji Yanami spoke for like a second and a half and said something along the lines of "Everyone loves Goku!" :/

The original Japanese narration is so sincere and heart warming, especially since we've had Jouji Yanami throughout the entire series, hearing him say "And that's the Goku we all loved" chokes me up every time.

The dub tried too hard, especially with that terrible cornball "And he will step out into the light to fight for everything that is good.. and truue" I actually feel embarrassed when I hear it.

It sounded corny when they said it at the end of Dark Knight too.....

Meh, to each his own. I like the "Forever Hero: Goku" take of the Dub's Ending Narration. It seems to be the general interpretation of GT's ending, so I like it.

Due to the DVD being released in 8 days and i'm sure that someone will get it soon, if they do, can I help you rip the dubbed songs? I have experience of ripping so I know what i'm doing :P

Please and thank you in advance!

I'm actually pretty pleased with my season 1 set, so I'll definitely be picking this up. Seems like they did a decent job on endings 3 and 4. Too bad they couldn't have given Z the proper treatment..

Ending three's not bad by any means, though I definitely prefer the Japanese version and I'd say it's my least favorite English song yet.

Dammit, ending four was removed before I could see it! AHHHH!

Wow, I really like the dub endings. Especially Machine Gun.

Now we just need to see what Funimation has done to the final ending scene...

Huh? How can everybody be listening to ending four? It was taken dow-

*checks again*

... and it's back up. The hell?

Wow, ending four's fantastic. Probably second only to ending one as my favorite dubbed GT song.

C'monnnnn, full version English "Dan Dan" ending scene! Please, please, please!

The Dubbed endings continue to be rather good.

The whole dub is embarrassing though, everytime I try to watch it and just hearing "LAST TIME ON DRRRRRAGONBAAAWLL ZEEEEE/GEETEE!" makes me change the audio.

At least the Narrator in their DB dub sounded right, but his script was just plain creepy.

Here's the ending of Episode 64 from the set. It's very disappointing as they kept all the talking, and to those who wanted a full English DAN DAN sorry to say, but FUNi used the Japanese version here.

Vic had confirmed he was not to be doing a full version. So no surprise here.

I wish they'd left it silent, though. At least you can hear the music, unlike usually with the 5.1 tracks.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Well for people who hate the talking they could switch over to the Japanese track as there is no talking and it's the same song anyway.

Blue Velvet = Best FUNi dubbed DB song ever. unless they ever decide to dub WE GOTTA POWER for Z, which they won't, so BV wins.

Y'know what? I'll take it.

It would have been cool to have a complete English version, but all I wanted was for the song to be there period, and it is. The talking is still stupid as hell. I mean, you get kind of used to it when they're saying lines, but when it gets to the point where they're just screaming during the song, it's just too annoying to take.

My main preference continues to be the Japanese track, but it's very comforting to know that dub fans aren't getting anything taken away from them here. All of the music is there, be it in Japanese, English, or instrumental. That's a HUGE victory for English DragonBall, even if Z is still getting screwed.

Am I the only one who, in the english version of Blue Velvet, hears "leave all the fear and the dub behind"? :P

In some parts I felt the talking actually complemented the music. The Father-Son Kamehameha being a notable example.

I like it.
