The guy who plays Goku is the Japanese voice for Bugs Bunny!

It would sound ridiculous if they had used a woman for Justin Chatwin.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I don't think you'll find many people to debate with you on that point. Like I said in our most recent update, however:

The thing is that the Dragonball cast has appeared in many recent games. It's not like they stopped after the series. If that was the case, reuniting them after ten years could be understandably difficult. VegettoEX could be right about it being an all or nothing, which is a shame, but these things happen.

I would just laugh myself silly if Nozawa used her normal Goku voice on Chatwin.

While I agree that it would be nice to have the original cast doing the voices, I have to think of the Death Note live action dubs. I don't know the names, but the VAs (whose performances are basically spot-on in the show) had real difficulty matching the mouth motions of their live-action counterparts. Naturally, this is going to be an issue with any live action dub, but the bigger issue was Light's VA, who was, in my opinion, perfectly chosen to play the character in the series, didn't have a voice that matched his live-action counterpart. It didn't totally detract from the movie, but it made it harder to get into.

The counterargument to this is posed by the example from Death Note of Chief Yagami, whose dub VA nailed every last line with basic perfection from what I was able to notice. I think the ultimate point is that in dubbing a cartoon, there is room for interpretation on what precisely the character sounds like, but for live actors, there are certain expectations that have to be met in order for the VA and the actor on screen to match up.

OMGWTF KAPPEI YAMAGUCHI!!!! :D

If any male should voice Goku in Japanese, it should be him.

Now, I know we all know him as Usopp, and Ranma, and Bugs Bunny, but... nobody remember this guy? Anyone?

Ranma as Goku just blows my mind.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I was taking about this earlier with a friend but somehow I've never been able to get used to Yamaguchi's voice outside of Usopp....I mean I'd hate it if he stopped voicing Usopp because to me he's the one and only voice that can ever be Usopp. Thing is I've heard him outside of One Piece and it just sounds funny to me. Funny in a way like if the VA for Mickey Mouse went to voice other people using Mickey Mouse's voice.

Meh it's silly that they didn't get the actual cast that's been voicing them for nearly 2 1/2 decades to do this. I think I'm with Nozawa on this though as I could care less about if the movie succeeds or if it tanks.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Goku: Kappei Yamaguchi and Bulma: Aya Hirano, you might as well make Yamcha: Mamoru Miyano than.

It'll be weird to see or hear some of the Death Note cast doing voices for Dragon Ball. I know Kappei Yamaguchi played Dende, but still. It'll be weird hearing not hearing Masako Nozawa for a dub of something Dragon Ball.

But, than again, maybe they asked Mrs. Nozawa if she wanted to be Goku, she probably told them to "Fuck off*, except more politely.

InuYasha/Usopp/Ranma/Shinichi Kudo voicing Japanese Goku with Arale/Lunch narrating makes me want to see this film more than I ever have before.

I am now going to only stay 30 feet away from this movie instead of the previous 45. That's an improvement.

Yeah, he would actually be a good voice for Trunks; but, Takeshi Kusao isn't that old, right? But, than again most of the actual Voice Actors don't seem to be part of the movie dubbing cast.

Mami Koyama would probably use a voice closer to own than the one she uses for Arale, since she'd be narrating the story. Probably something like the voice she does for Vermouth (Detective Conan) and Kycilia Zabi (Gundam).

I'm rather surprised by some of the other choices for seiyuu since they could have just used the original ones from the series.

I like the voice cast they chose for the movie. Getting the younger generation of Japanese voice actors, rather than the veterans, for the movie seems to make sense to me.

I wouldn't argue that hearing Nozawa over Chatwin would most definitely be odd, but I would at least like to hear her (or any of the old Dragon Ball cast) in cameos.
