Uhm, I just now realized that this is all starting on TV on 05 April 2009 @ 9 am. Holy motherloving crap! I am ten times more excited now! I figured we wouldn't be seeing anything concrete about this for another year or something! My brain's about to explode with awesomeness!

In short, I'm excited and I actually care to know if this is being fansubbed or not.

Maybe the anime gods will align, and we'll get subbed episodes legally like Naruto the week following.

Ya know what. I don't think it's really all that cool. Just re-editing the series?

I'd prefer that they went back and re-animated it to 100 episodes than just re-edit it. It would be much more exciting (to me) to see it re-animated in HD.

... but I guess it is kind of cool. But only about 25 episodes per arc? I'm guessing it'll just be like:

Radditz: "haha I'm your brother, I'm evil and I'm kidnapping Gohan. Blow the earth up right now!"

Goku: "No!"

Piccolo: "Let's team up. But I still want to kill you."

Goku: "Sure!"

Radditz: "hahah you sure are a dumb kid..."

Gohan: "Wahhhhh boo hoo etc."

Piccolo & Goku: "You're going down!"

*Radditz kicks some butt*

Gohan: "Nooo I have hidden potential!"

*hits Radditz*

Radditz: "owie!"

Piccolo: "Hold him by his tail it's his weak spot."

Goku: "How do you know?"

Piccolo: "Just do it. Oh by the way I have this new attack and I'm going to kill you and him at the same time."

*special beam makanko sappooppiojuoiuo whatever*

Radditz: "Ah dang you got me I'm dead now. Oh wait, yeah, two saiyans are coming and yeah they're stronger haha!"

Everyone: "Goku's dead.

let's wish him back with dragonballs!"

Yemma: "Goku you have to go down snake way"

*cut to vegeta and nappa arriving*

Nappa: "We're here!"

Everyone arrives: "Hey we're ready to fi-"

*everyone is suddenly dead*

Gohan: "Wh-what happened?"

Nappa: "We're just that good."

Gohan: "Well my daddy's coming back from the dead to put the beat down on yous guys."

Goku: "Wow snake way sure was long glad I finally made it to the end." "Hey King Kai!"

King Kai: "What's up Goku! Catch my monkey!"

Goku: "Okay! Got 'em already!"

King Kai: "Dang tha twas fast... hit greggor-- *bam*"

*cuts back to Vegeta/Nappa*

Nappa: "Is Goku here yet?"

Everyone: "No!"

Goku: "Actually Now I am!"

Vegeta: "Nappa you suck..." *kills nappa*

Vegeta: "Now Kakarott let's fight!"

Goku: "okay!"

Vegeta: " Ahhh now I'm a giant monkey!"

Yajirobe: "Not anymore!"

Vegeta: "Ahhh dang!"

Goku: "Here, Krillin you'll have to throw the spirit bomb."

Krillin: "Okay Goku but what's a spirit bom-"

Goku: "WE DONT HAVE TIME TO EXPLAIN WE HAVE TO CUT THIS TO 100 EPISODES!!"

Krillin: "Oh okay... here goes."

Goku: "Crap you miss--- oh wait no you got 'em afterall."

Krilling: "Wait... isn't Gohan suppose... oh look Vegeta's back. I'll kill you with a uh sword!"

Goku: "No let him go!"

Krillin: "kay"

Vegeta: "haha you guys suck, see you again in about 40 minutes."

... etc. Maybe it really can be done haha.

Shit, my mistake. I thought they were just re-doing all the episodes with added effects and new recordings.

I didn't realize they were cutting it down to 100 episodes. So yeah, forget about what I said.

In a way... this isn't the first time this has been done. The new Evangelion films are more-or-less like this.

I can't watch Japanese TV where I live. Fansubbing means online distribution of the show so I can watch it. I don't care if it's subbed, but it'll be more likely that I can find it if I can search for it in English.

Why are they just doing Z? I know a certain Red Ribbon-ish arc that could certainly use some cuts.

Well the Dragon Box's started with Z first. Maybe they're following the same pattern here?

Not really. You get one opening and one ending for the hour long block. You just get some 4th wall breaking banter from the characters at times.

Oddly enough, I'm not too excited about this project. Just an edited, and cleaner look of the original series? One aspect of which I really am totally appreciative and ecstatic about however, would be the original seiyus returning for a re-dub. Fan-tas-tic.

In any case, this should be quite the spectacle; I'm almost positive the end result will be more than what I've imagined.

I need to change my pants. Those numbers look great.

Looking at this, are we clear just what exactly is going on here? No actual "new" footage is being created, effects will be updated and scenes will definately be cut. Thinking about it now, I'd be a little disappointed if it's the exact same thing with just some scenes shaven off and episodes merged together. I'm hoping for a Dragon Ball Movie 4-like structure, but in episodic form.

Note: Structure doesn't mean animation.

Not sure what the OP and ED is like on the DVDs but the double episodes are still numbered as two episodes.

I, for one, am excited about just retouched animation.

The animation was/is good. Framerate is better than a lot of animation. I would be fine with just seeing mistakes corrected in this process.

And maybe a few of those crappy noses.

But, other than that, count me very much in for not throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
