Mystic Mr. Satan
Had an interesting thought today, since Old Kai's mystic power-up brings out all the potential in a person, how strong do you think it would have made Mr. Satan? He's been training for a long time apparently, but has nowhere near the strength of the Z-fighters. Would he still not be able to fly? Would he get dramatically stronger? (We've seen humans get extremely powerful when compared to regular people) Or would he just get a small increase for being a big oaf with no real potential?

I think he'd probably get around or near what Krillin was at his peak(I personally assume that he started declining near the Buu saga). He wouldn't be able to fly though; it's a technique that is taught, not intuited. I use Goten as my example for that; he could figure it out without much trouble, but it doesn't just happen.
I dislike you intensely.(probably)

I agree with you, Although I still find it hard to picture Hercule going up against Freeza.shinaobi wrote:I think he'd probably get around or near what Krillin was at his peak(I personally assume that he started declining near the Buu saga). That is kind of hard to picture... I mean, he'd still be destroyed. Even with his ki released, he's had no training to control it in any way, so even defending himself from attacks would probably prove to be a problem.saiyanprincess wrote:I agree with you, Although I still find it hard to picture Mr. Satan going up against Freeza.shinaobi wrote:I think he'd probably get around or near what Krillin was at his peak(I personally assume that he started declining near the Buu saga). I'd figure he'd end up like Spopovitch. Great physical power, but a fighting technique as limited as ever. It would only be the strength boost that would make him competitive.

When Kuririn talked to Saichoro about having his power drawn out, Saichoro said something like "You still have hidden strength you haven't brought out through training that's going to waste" and Kuririn replied by saying that he didn't think he had anything left and that he'd already gone beyond his limits.SSJ2bardock wrote:I'm reading what you guys are saying and I don't see it. I think he would only get as strong as Master Roshi and other tournament fighters from Dragonball such as King Choppa.
I think humans have a deep potential that they're not tapping in to yet. Mr Satan may be hopeless compared to the other Z fighters, but why would his full potential be much less than any of them? Besides that, Rou Dai Kaioshin's upgrade is supposed to be even better, bringing out a person's power 'beyond their limits'.
But to be honest even Herms isn't sure how this 'hidden power' thing works. I've just gone over what they say in the manga to try to make sense of it, and this is the most I get.

It seems pretty clear that if you "get" the idea of Ki and learn to utilise it, then you're pretty quickly going to break through the superhuman barrier.
However, it's technique that counts, hence my comparison to Spopovitch. Despite his strength, and his crushing victory, it is made clear that Videl fought better than him and that it was merely Spopvitch's massive strength, gained from Babidi, that allowed him to win.
In much the same manner, I assume that if Mister Satan was to get a big bag o' unleashed potential, he would be a physically impressive guy, on the superhuman scale, but without the training in utilising Ki, or training in more advanced fighting techniques (Vegeta's criticisms of lower fighters at the 25th Tenkaichi Tournament was not that they were not strong, because, you know, duh, but that their fighting techniques were so base), Satan wouldn't accomplish much against anyone not well below his level.

I imagine he would be somewhere around Master Roshi's 139 level. I think he had potential, just not as much as real fighters like Nam and Kuririn.
When I say real fighters, I mean those who totally devote themselves to training and the martial arts. And we see Mr. Satan not even bothering to train for the Budokai. He wouldn't even be able to fly.[/i]

And we're talking about an ability that brings out your full, ultimate hidden potential 'beyond your limits'. Even if you've never trained a day in your life, you must have potential in there somewhere.

Why do people insist on saying that Mr. Satan isn't a real fighter? He won the damn Tenkaichi Budokai! Which is an impressive feat in itself. Sure there was no Goku or Roshi in the tournament at that time, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a Nam or someone similar.
Mr. Satan was a great fighter, "The Strongest Under the Heavens" Excluding the Z fighters. Hell, he didn't know he wasn't the best until he fought Cell.
I have always wondered why Mr. Satan never tried to train/learn from the Z fighters, but then I realize he is a gag character and let it go.
With the Mystic Power Up he would have gotten ridiculously strong, probably close to Krillin Cell Saga level, but he would have no Idea how to use his Ki or anything. The Mystic Power up in itself is the most potent power up there is, way above the Majin Charm. If Krillin Got the Mystic power up he would have gotten really strong too.
As for his age, um, maybe like ,35 when he fights Cell, that's just a guess though, cause if Videl is 16-17 during the Buu arc, then she would be 10ish when the Cell games happened, So Yeah, Between 28-35 seems possible.

He's probably too full of himself. In his eyes he is the best and they are nothing but small time magicians. Even after he accepts the truth I bet he's still incredibly skeptical of them and their abilities. He probably thinks he's doing real martial arts and the Z fighters are merely WWF type fighters.omegacwa wrote: I have always wondered why Mr. Satan never tried to train/learn from the Z fighters
I could see him getting to Kuririn's level of power, but just not having the skill to fight properly. Satan would probably get his ass kicked simply because he would now have the power of flight and just be thrilled with that too much to notice he's in a fight.

I'd say all humans have the potential to get as strong as krillin and yamcha and tien. The only reason those guys got so strong in the first place was because they followed Goku's footsteps and copied his training, first Roshi, than Karin Tower, then Kami, then King Kai..Up until Super Saiyan where were just like ...."crap".
I'm not sure how much stronger mystic would have made them, they seemed to be pretty close to their max which is probably why they gave up fighting.
