Question about Profile Image

Post by falconsedge » Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:17 am

I was curious about the avatar/profile image part about the forums. It says there are limitations for size and usually on other sites with that I find an image then the site downsizes it. Here it stays big. Just like to know what I need to do to get a normal size image. Thank you.

You can change the size with image editing software. If you don't know how, post the picture here and I'll do it for you.

Sorry I'm not very internet savvy with embedding images and such.

Which part do you want as an avatar exactly? It should probably be square and will only be as big as mine.

See, if I tried to fit them all in, it would be difficult to tell what the icon even is.

But how's this?

Is direct linking allowed? For instance, photobucket.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Photobucket allows direct linking, some other sites don't, since you're using their bandwidth every time someone loads your avatar.

By the way, I couldn't see your avatar at first. I can now since I manually went to the image on their website. You might be able to see it since it's in your cache, but everyone else is probably seeing the 'Don't direct link to our pics' type picture that's appearing in it's place. You might want to get a photobucket account and put it there.

It is really difficult to find avatar with required size on Yahoo. I cant save it and put it on it. It was required to have URL so Photobucket is only option. No, my profile pic is from URL, not photobucket. Any idea where I can find tons of DBZ avatars?

Photobucket is what I use. Uhhh...some people on here have created their own avatars you could use, but I forget which thread they're in. I make mine myself, so I don't know any places with lots available.

If you find a picture you would like to be an avatar, I could take a crack at resizing and cropping it for you, if you want.

Edit: This is how you look to me btw, lol.

I already have a photobucket account. However, one person said my avatar is a direct linking and isnt allowed. I thought it was strange. Oh well, I found SSJ3 Goku from Yahoo.

What they probably meant is that the site your avatar was on doesn't allow direct linking, which is why your avatar looks like the picture I posted above. Photobucket does allow direct linking, so copy your avatar there, get the photobucket link and stick that in your profile, and everything should be fine.

I made some for you. If you chose to use them, please put them on your own photobucket, rather than leeching on my one's bandwidth.

I don't have the software on the machine I'm currently on to do the animated or transparent ones properly.
