NEW Hi-Res Bandai Dragonball Evolution Figure Photos!

Post by Oldphan » Sun Feb 15, 2009 9:07 pm

What did I tell you guys? Dragonballtoys.com got em' first! Action Online, the company that owns my site, www.Dragonballtoys.com was at the New York Toy Fair this year, and acquired some of the first hi-res photos of the new Dragonball Evolution action figures! Two toy series so far in the promotion of the film - the first is just called the 'MOVIE ACTION FIGURES' series, which are all 4" tall. The second series is called the '6” FAST-ACTING FIGURE' series. Pictures below, and more images and info here!: http://www.dragonballtoys.com/archives/000674.php

Each figure in the 4" series will also include a piece to make an Oozaru figure, just like the current wave 1, and wave 2 Bandai Ultimate Collection figures!

I'm told there's a ton more coming, I will update with more as soon as possible!

All the best,
Oldphan

Ugh, Piccolo's been borrowing Freeza's lipstick. Ick. >_O

Other than that, they look decent for movie figures.
On hiatus.

Wait, why does Goku have arms growing out of his arms?

I guess there's a reason, but it looks hilarious.

I'm not sure...I think it's trying to illustrate a "Karate Chop" function or something?

These are ugly. I'll wait for the Enterbay toys.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

The paint jobs on some of the faces look really terrible, but that happens. I mean some of my expensive Batman figures have stuff like that.

I'm very disappointed with Piccolo. It just doesn't look good at all. Goku is okay except for the crazy arms.

Yeah, this would be the most obvious reason. But the way they're growing out of his elbow joints...is he just waving his forearms at super high speeds?

Just picture that for a moment, everyone.

Now it all makes sense.

The Oozaru toy had the same wristbands.

I'm positive that the extra arms in the photos are just to illustarite the kind of movement that these figures are capable of.

I did see that Oozaru - Getting pretty weird here, people!

To me it looks like seperate arms slide out of the fore-arms. If you look closely at the Goku picture the second sets of arms have tiny fists so they can fit in, and you can see that the main arms seem to be cut flat down the middle, if you see what I mean?

Haha. Well, it is called 'fast action', right? Maybe he shakes his arms so hard the extra ones flip out and it looks like they're moving in a blur.

But in a still picture it looks pretty funny.

That's what I thought. Is that supposed to be an early look at Oozaru Vegeta? Or just some random Oozaru in Saiya-Jin armor? I just doubt that it's Son, himself. And look at it's face, it looks more like a cross between the "Fish-Zaru" and the Oozaru that we saw from the PSP screen shot. This also makes me believe that in this Dragonball universe, the Oozaru (Plural) all have different faces. This is interesting. It brings variety.

Screw these figures! I want those Dragon Balls alone.
Next, I'll need a Freeza in his hover chair figure.

Tons more photos here! Figures.com is one of the brother sites to Dragonballtoys.com, and they went to Toy Fair this year to take all of these for the site:

Chatku looks more like Goku on the photo taken for the toy boxes than he has in any other shot I've seen so far. o_O

Why couldn't they have used that shot, or that type of shot more often?
