I plan on getting Season 2, I already have 1. How did the final scene turn out in 63? How much has having the original score, helped that scene?

Conan the SSJ wrote:On Disc 2 during the fourth episode of said disc, "Piccolo's Best Bet", the episode gets completely screwy in terms of the video track freezing/skipping/artifacting/etc. And this disc has absolutely no visible problems, no scratches, no finger prints, not even specks of dust or whatnot. To put it bluntly, it's as close to mint condition as an unsealed DVD can get!
Really?

I'm currently on my third set because my second disc was freezing up and I had to return it... twice. Both of mine were severely scratched, though, so I just assumed that was the reason. On my first set, the freezing was on the section you mentioned. On my second set, in was on the episode right after that.

Wow, I just thought it was just the fact that my discs were scratched. Anybody else having this problem?

Corey posted back in January wrote:Ah, yeah. More than likely, that is FUNimation's fun copy protection scheme implementation wrecking havok with your playback. It's a hotly contested issue. Basically, to prevent people from making copies, FUNimation inserts bad "bits" into their discs which would theoretically mess up an attempt to make a copy...problem is, it seems to mess with people's playback in quite a few cases as well.

Fun part? It's probably illegal, since they're breaking the DVD specification to insert this fun copy protection scheme. Plus, RipGuard (the name of copy protection, it's actually made by Macrovision) is guaranteed to "play on all PC and consumer electronic DVD players. " So, there's false advertising to some extent.

It's been reported on several releases, and the problem can vary per DVD player and their sensitivity to these bad bits. Funny thing is, it does next to nothing to stop piracy :P

You can check out a few screen shots in my review at Toon Zone!

I don't know what you're talking about in that review, because the eyecatchers ARE there and presented exactly as in the original version.

I think he meant the Next Episode Previews because he mentions that FUNi didn't get either Goku voice to record them.

Hey! For those of you with season one and two, can you tell me what the image is on the side of the two boxes when placed next to each other. I couldn't tell what was going on with just the first box.

It's FUNi's GT logo.

Goku rising up from the crater, to kill Yi Xing Long (Omega Shenron).

Can anyone post some screencaps from the GT tv special?, I'm interested to see if it looks any better than the awful single release.

I'll second that request. Like Z movie 13, something about it just hurt my eyes. I'd like to see how the remastered version looks in comparison.

It's SO much better with the original fanfare intact. The dialogue was very accurately adapted for that scene (with only Pan's "Grandpa, you look like a God!" line changed), so that particular scene is fantastic.

The only sad thing about having the original music in the dub is that it only makes it more apparent how muffled the Japanese audio is...

As if that mattered. FUNi didn't redub GT to begin with. All they did was slap the already dubbed audio over the Japanese BGM and remake the opening and endings.

I know GT wasn't redubbed, and I'm just saying that most fans believe that the Next Episode Previews should have been included with Stephanie Nadolny narrating them.

Hell, GT should have been redubbed entirely. First thing that should have been ditched (after the music) was the narrator. :x

I like (not really) how the narrator still says "Stay tuned for scenes from the next GT" even though said scenes aren't actually in these sets
