Episodes 28-67?
What, they released 1-27, and then skipped to 68-291 in fullscreen?

Exactly. They never finished the UUCs that would've completed the series in 4:3. 16:9 is the ONLY option for collecting the entire series in the US.

No, they never released episodes 1-67 uncut (first at least). Only the edited version was released by Pioneer. Funimation continued to dub the series and released what they did uncut, but they had to wait for Pioneer's sub-license to expire before releasing episodes 1-67 uncut on DVD, and thus they were released last.

They released a portion of "Season 1" uncut after the sub-license expeired, hence the Ultimate Uncuts. They never finished them, though, and skipped straight to doing the Bricks.

Yes, I know that they stopped at episode 27, but I was not explaining that, as it had already been stated. I was explaining the method/ordering of release used.

See, they're cutting it short so that us Americans with no attention span can watch it. Even those of us that don't read (once FUNi dubs it that is)!
Haha! I think they're plans are a little flawed. Not a lot of us outside of Japan have access to FujiTV.

Oh wow.

When I first saw that new logo for DBZ, my mind played a huge trick on me. The K was so obscured, and I thought that Japanese character was obscuring some of the "l" shaped letter.

So for about one and a half seconds, I thought it said Dragon Ball AF. And I nearly shit a brick.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw "Dragon Ball AF" in there.

The logo doesn't look that extreme, it looks more colorful and "Yay, Dragon Ball!" although it does look pretty sharp...

While I really like the logo, it is in dire need of more red. It just doesn't look Dragon Ball-y enough without red. :?

The logo looks great. "Dragon Ball" looks old school while the "Kai" feels more modern and very shiny. Good mixture.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

When I first heard it was being called Kai, I couldn't believe it myself! Cool logo though.

By the way, here's a few things that will be in the upcoming first episode of DB-Kai:

- A brief look at the last moments of Bardock and Planet Vegeta
- An overview of young Goku's growing up years (Dragonball, the pre-Z period) up until his triumph over Piccolo at the Tenkaichi-Budokai.
- The all-too-brief and yet still somewhat triumphant return of FARMER WITH A SHOTGUN!

And sadly (although that really all depends on how you look at things...)
- Goku's winky has disappeared!

That's right, through the miracle of "we're just not gonna draw it anymore", Li'l Goku is no longer going to be allowed to show off "Even Littler Goku" on TV. But don't worry, they won't do anything so blatant as to digitize tighty-whiteys on him.

So are these re-used Bardock scenes from the special, or what??

I hope they catch all of the inconsistencies from the first airing. Taking out the filler will solve most of those problems.
