It doesn't really overly matter to me if the K replaces Z.

Granted, "Dee Bee Zee" sounded awesome in Peter Cullen's narration in those Toonami ads of long ago (it rhymes); but Dragon Ball's never on CN anymore and Toonami no longer exists.

I'd rather just refer to the whole thing (the original DB and Z) as simply Dragon Ball, anyway.

I hope it does. Goodbye "Zee".
Goodbye nostalgia.

I'm hoping he's involved too, and while I'd like to hear some new stuff, I'd also like them to use Kiseki no Honô yo Moeagare at some point. Hopefully they change the OPs after each saga, like how Naruto and One Piece do it.

Wow, that looks cool. If the final product is anything like this, then I'll be a very happy fan. :D

It hurts so good. LOVE IT!

This is a huge year for Dragon Ball, the DVD single releases come to a closure, the Live action movie comes out, new manga material and DBKai, and there's the 40th Jump special which came out kinda close to now too...

...I don't like it.

It's bright, flashy, and all over the place. It's...I dunno. It lacks the simplistic charm of the DB/Z/GT logos.

So, will our forum members in Japan be doing live play-by-plays as it airs?

We should all be able to see it live, with those streaming programs that became popular during Code Geass R2. I'm pretty sure the more of us that watch, the better quality all of us get, or something like that, so you can expect everyone with half of a brain to be watching.

By the way, what was the name of that program again? I think it was Keyhole TV or something like that...

Keyhole

But the point of watching some thing because of it's HD sharpness though Keyhole... is... VERY GOOD...

No, No matter what I'll propperly sit glued to the screen because I can't wait for an HD raw to come out some hours later (Come on, It's the internet, everything is leaked here)

That brings up the question, is DBKai going to be illegal to download? I mean, it's basically DBZ, so since DBZ is licensed here, I would imagine it would be illegal.. But is it actually going to be considered a different series, which needs its own separate American license? Or is it simply "refreshed" DBZ?

You, me, and thousands of others.

As much as I can't wait to see this, I'm almost just as excited to pre-order the first Blu-ray release. Don't let me down Toei (DVD only release, or waiting till the entire series is finished, etc).

It's a different series. Think of it like Rebuild of Evangelion. ADV didn't automatically gain the rights to it, just because they licensed the original version of the show. If Funimation wants it, they'll have to pay for it. But until then, it's up for grabs.

99% of all TV shows are illegal to download. And despite what many think, just because an anime isn't licensed in their country doesn't automatically negate any legalities when they download it.

DBK is owned by Toei Animation; if you're not paying for it, you're stealing. The thing is, at least for me, I'm not buying something in a language I don't understand without subtitles.

I don't see why this rehashed series is such a huge deal for some of you people. It's the same show you have seen many times before, but chopped up and edited. There is no new animation since they are using the original footage.

Now, if Toei was going to re-animate the whole series in the style of the Jump special, then I would be looking forward to it more since it would actually be new animation (with no Triangle Crap).

With that said, the original footage does hold a great deal of nostalgia.
