Yes, just as Saibamen is the name given to the Saibaimen in the FUNimation dub of the anime.

I was not being sarcastic I was serious, I am sorry if it appeared that way. Honestly, I do not know of any other way they could introduce that segment of Dragonball, unless Piccolo calls Mai to the back room for a minute and then we see her in that exact same chair giving birth later on. Unless the movie Piccolo is like those guys on Alien Nation and they are the ones that give birth to the children.

Yeah, that was the name given them from what I understand it was a pretty accurate translation.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Oi, I'd love to see the original four deamons show up and see just how they adapt them, but I always knew they wouldn't. Course I've already got such clear views of them in my head I'd probably always be disapointed.

All in the same- I rather like most of the new shots. I really want to know how much they'll actually develop Yam before he ends up getting screwed over, and he at least shows up in these.

As cool as I find Daimao's original hench... -creatures in the series, I simply can't picture them in live-action without my brain giving me flashbacks to Dinosaurs. Then I crack up laughing.

I think they can still translate well to live action.

Yeah, this guy is a Fulum. Scary-looking bugger.

EDIT: Damn photobucket.
This are so far the best things about this movie, I love the look of them.

They look like Power Ranger Putty Patrollers fodder rejects.

What role are they supposed to play in the movie and what is their history?

They're Daimaou's generic deamon minion Redshirts. They're there to look scarey and be picked off en mass by the heroes.

That would only make the movie better, in my opinion. Dinosaurs was one of the greatest comedies of all time. If you disagree, you don't belong on Daizenshuu.

Piccolo is so not the momma... wait, no, I guess he is.

Anyway if the entire cast of Dragonball got killed off at the end for the sake of an environmental message, I would just about die laughing.

Some music news popped up during the forum downtime! The first is a youtube video of Brian Tyler conducting a song for Evolution.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eHIDkwTNt4

Second, you can listen to samples of a few of the songs on the OST at colosseum.de!

I put forth the opinion that the intro to Roshi's theme sounds like the GT rap.

Overall it's well composed, but it doesn't sound like anything special to me. (The movie music, not the GT rap. :P)

Heard the music the other day.
It was alright (and I like orchestra music in general) but it didn't feel like DB at all to me. ^^;

The music just seemed very stereotypical Super Hero movie. At this point I'm just expecting this. The music wasn't BAD by any means. Just not DragonBall.

It would be worse if it was exactly like the Japanese score, since it wouldn't fit this retelling.

Overall I absolutely love the score and look forward to the full songs.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Anyone here seen the Japanese trailer yet?!

They changed some dialogue... They went from "You're the only one who can do it" to "Goku, save the world!" :P

Hm, it was also quite a weird experience to hear L & Inuyasha perform a Kamehameha XD

What did you guys think of the fight scene between Roshi and Goku? The one where their fighting really fast and Goku accidentally hits Bulma with a Ki blast. Do you think they at least nailed Dragon Ball's style of fighting?
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

Weird? I'd say awful. Piccolo's the positive thing here.
