Dragon Ball NG: New Generation (My Fanfic)

Okay, so I came up with an idea called Dragon Ball NG: New Generation.

200 years after the end of GT, there's a new generation of characters. However, they don't have any past knowledge of some of the stuff that Goku and his friends did. They also all don't already know each other, etc. Basically, the story would play out like the original Dragon Ball. Also, NO SUPER SAIYANS RIGHT OFF THE GET-GO. Hell, they don't even know about they're Saiyan heritage.

The story's all about Gosu, who looks exactly like Goku and has a tail. However, he's sort of the opposite of Goku, and more like Yusuke Uramaeshi. A troublemaker, always looking for a fight, foul-mouthed, perverted, rude, etc. He doesn't have a father as far as he's concerned while his mother died when he was a baby, so he makes a living on his own. He spends long periods of time away from home and is usually stealing food from restaurants to satisfy his abnormal appetite. The only thing that he really hold sacred to himself is the four-star ball, which was something his mother found one day. During one of his many attempted robberies, someone notices the Dragon Ball with him (he wears it as a necklace) and tells him the legend of the Dragon Ball. He decides to dedicate his life to finding the Dragon Balls so he can meet his father. Sure he has no radar, so he's just gonna find it himself.

(and I'm gonna copy the plot of Far & Away with this part)

He finds a mansion in his search one night and decides to sleep in the backyard. He wakes up and sees a girl and hides but makes too much noise. She finds him and shoots at him and causes a huge commotion. The bodyguard and her parents come out, and Gosu decides to fight, but slips and gets knocked unconscious. When he recovers, the girl, Chitsu (I'm sure Herms knows what this means ), asks him what the hell he's doing there, and Gosu explains the story of the Dragon Balls. The bodyguard challenges Gosu to a fight, and Gosu seems out-matched, but then Chitsu comes in a motorcycle and tells Gosu to hop on leave. Her parents are outraged but she doesn't care. Gosu hops on and they go off for an adventure...

And now I ahve to come up with the rest of it. What do you think?

I felt turned off by the idea of yet another '500 years in the future' GT sequel, but this sounds pretty original (even though you copied some of the plot). Write some!

I am suspicious of it just being a rewrite of early Dragonball. If you are going to copy early Dragonball, then just come out and say it's a severe rewrite/AU.

Obviously, if you're gonna spin wildly away with it, then don't, but right now that's what it looks like.

Seems like a good idea for a fanfic, is Chitsu what I think it means.(Vagaina in Japanese?)

Then again, given Chi-Chi, it makes sense.

Another character I plan on bringing in is Retasu, Vegeta's great-great-great-whatever-grandson. He'll prbably be an enemy-turned ally.

Hm, I dunno. I got that impression from the very first few lines, but then it sounded like it was starting to take a somewhat different direction. Anyway, the idea of 'history repeating itself' seems common in anime.

It sounds interesting to me, although the idea of finding the dragon balls to find his father reminds me of Gon in Hunter x Hunter.

Fan-fics aren't as popular as other fan-works. Quadruple posting probably won't help your case.

But still, they can at least give it a chance. The only things that people ever look at here are Abridged, Multiverse, and AF.

All I'm asking for is for you guys to check it out and tell me what you think, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it here in the first place. It's just frustrating when nobody even acknowledges what you're trying to do because they're too busy jizzing themselves over the same three things.

Well, except it wasn't as similar to the original Dragonball. But the main character is basically the same in personality and appearance.

So...in reality, the only similar things are the setting and main character...hmm.

To be completely honest I don't read written fanfics. I don't have the attention span for that.

Even when I have my own fanfics, I draw them out in comic form...which is probably why they never get done... >.<
