From Bura's site:
I kinda like the bracelet; she's got other merchandise photos up too.
Also from a reply Ramsey made in his blog about Kuririn:

Krillin was in an earlier draft of the script but only in a cameo roll. I wrote about 5 different drafts of Dragonball. So I'm not even sure which draft was the one used in production.

Seriously, what is so wrong with having Krillin in the movie? I just don't get it.
I don't know why.
I'd liked to have had him in there, even in a "cameo" like Ramsey mentions.
At least the writer thought about him though, so there is that.
On the blog he mentions high school purely as a plot device; but I still think they could have achieved showing off Goku's abilities as unique in other ways that don't require that type of plot device.
The problem from the studios perspective is in creating a film for the hardcore fans, you run the risk of alienating the non fans who are a huge part of the movie-going audience. Especially in a world as complex as Dragonball Z with so many characters so many story lines so many rules. It's a massive thing to distill down to 90 minutes or so.
But its okay to alienate the fanbase itself?
What about the Harry Potter and LOTR movies?! They didn't alienate the fanbase, so why's it deemed alright to shoot us in the foot?
I feel slighted by it. I know this sort of thing doesn't bother some people but to me it feels too much like a "oh you're a fan you don't matter" sort of thing. Sweet gravy its like making a football movie with prioritizing people who don't like football over those who do.
Would a middle ground have been that much to ask for?
Also, looks like that rumored run time of 80 or 100 minutes thing has some truth to it.

I can really sympathize with Mr. Ramsey. At least he had some class about the whole thing, unlike the 'fan' whom he was responding to.

Like a martial arts school of some sort instead? Such a simple route to go in in my opinion. Not to mention, it'd be a perfect set up for cameo appearances from the rest of the original DB cast. But alas..Chuquita wrote:

I can kind of understand why they chose not to include Kuririn. There seems to be a lot of people who feel like him being short is important to the character, so if they tried to go down that road, it would be harder to find the right person to play the part without looking too strange in the role.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

Wow. I can tell not many of you have read anything by Alan Moore or you wouldn’t be brushing Watchmen off so easily. Dr. Manhattan has always looked that way, and I'm thoroughly impressed they let him -stay- looking that way. Whoever's making this movie seems.. intensely devoted to the comic. I can still barely believe that any movie based off an Alan Moore book looks.... good at all, let alone this good.
Here's just a short example. The top image is from the movie, the others are from the comic. Most of these characters are dead by the time the movie starts, but their history’s important and the director/costumer/whomever it was understood that enough to get this damn dedicated to detail. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/images/ne ... utemen.jpg
I haven't seen it yet, of course. I plan on seeing it as soon as possible. If you haven’t even heard of Watchmen though.... Something tells me you don't read comics, as this and the Dark Knight Returns more or less revolutionized and reinvented the entire medium back in the 1980's.
I'm done ranting on Watchmen now. How bout that Dragonball? When're we gonna get more info?

Watchmen looks like it’s suffering from “I haven't heard about it, therefore it sucks” syndrome. Though, this is the first time I’ve actually come across it; everywhere else is hype… which is no doubt a contributing factor. I mean hell, we had people here saying TDK sucked.Velasa wrote:Wow. Not only does the Zack Snyder interpretation look good, it looks accurate. I get goosebumps watching the trailers because it evokes the comic’s imagery so well. I definitely can not say the same for Evolution. To even weigh the two against each other, much less claim DBE the better adaptation, is ludicrous. And this is coming from someone who is much more familiar with, and biased toward Dragon Ball. At this point I am really only seeing that movie because I have been following (/debating about/making fun of) it for so long that I am just really curious about what the movie is actually going to be like after everything is said and done with. Watchmen I know will be good, and am going to out of actual interest, rather than “fan duty”.

I think that that is the main difference between the Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter and Dragonball movies. It's pretty much decided that those movies would be made and in the case of Lord of the Rings, they would all be made at the same time. I seriously doubt that an studio's going to greenlight three two-an-a-half-hour movies at the same time four one series anytime soon or at all.Rocketman wrote:The Lord of the Rings movies are like twelve hours long.Chuquita wrote:What about the Harry Potter and LOTR movies?! Though I guess that's better than Enchanto and McRoberts.
