Chewbacca in A Hero's Legacy

Post by Sun_Wukong » Sun Nov 07, 2004 3:10 pm

Taken from the official site:

"Here's a special treat for all you sci-fi fans: Does anyone remember the big hairy character in Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi? Chewbacca. That's right. The loveable wookie will be making his big-screen return in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, and the actor behind the wookie makes his voice acting debut in this Dragon Ball GT movie: A Hero's Legacy. That's right, Peter Mayhew was nice enough to contribute his vocal talents as this villain (Susha)."

incase nobody remembers who he was, he's the dude third down on the left

Thought it was an interesting tidbit ^^

...which is great, except the character's name is "Gettou".

Silly dub writers... :?

That character looks an awful lot like Slythe from Thundercats...

But it is kind of neat to have this little Star Wars connection. :) Though it somehow makes me wonder what Anthony Daniels might've sound like as Gill.

They probably didn't want kids to associate him with ghettos.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

That's pretty cool! I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so that to me is pretty awesome! Even though I probably won't watch the dub, it's still net to know. ^_^

Does this mean I can expect him to make Chewie noises?

Yeah, silly dub writers indeed. Changing the name to something not even sounding remotely similar. I havent watched the Special in ages. Anyone mind filling me in on who this character is exactly? The only thing I really remember about that movie is how stupid it was to make Goku Jr go SSJ when he has barely any Saiya-jiin blood in him. -_-

He's really nothing more than a "montser of the day" type villain. Seems to have his base around Mt. Paozu, and has a few underlings.

The "Chewie noises" weren't made by the actor himself (they were the sounds of various predatory animals combined together into their own unique "voice"), so probably not. In fact, if you see outtakes from the first movie (if not Empire and Jedi as well), he's actually speaking dialogue. :)

That sucks...I know ppl who can immitate ol Chewie quite well without the need of splicing together various animal sounds

Indeed, watch the "Empire of Dreams" documentary in the Trilogy DVD set, there you clearly see him talking/making sounds. It's a rough cut of the scene where Han says "Where did you dig up that old fossil?"

Pretty cool you know that, SaiyaJedi! Are you also a big Star Wars fan? :)

I think his name alone would give that much away.

I saw the GT special only once like 2 years ago, and If I remember correctly that guy was only in it for a few seconds, right?

Well, that frog like monster Mugen posted a picture of does only appear for a few seconds, but the discussion here is about his boss, who has a significantly larger role.

I think.

Yeah, the same thing with Vader. Its quite funny to hear a high pitched British actor speaking Vader's lines.

Chu-baka? Heh.

Gods, I haven't seen any of the original Trilogy for many moons. So Chewie's gonna be in Revenge of the Sith, eh? Interesting to know...

Great, but the Sith are what? 10 000 years older than our 200 year old wookie friend?

Actually zack they have mortal life spans, maybe a little extended but not by much, most the them were former jedi who are turned by the dark side so :P

look at the emporer he is originally on the jedi council or something simular can't remember, so how is that so old, it's like saying goku is immortal it's just false.
