Worst character designs in the series.

In terms of plain ol' lazy generic designs, any random groups of citizens always have the cliché Toriyama D-list designs to them (there's the chubby Mexican looking dude, the fat lady, the kid with a balloon or toy, Yamcha look-alike, prissy-looking young woman with a boyfriend... it's the same darn thing every single time). I understand that they're just background characters, but it feels like the same group of only-slightly-altered designs every time a group shows up.

For whatever reason, I dislike those filler space people and their designs right after Gohan/Kuririn/Bulma take off into space the most. Tell them I hate them.

As much as I think he's kinda neat looking, I always found Janenba's transformed state to take lots of elements from other characters:

His face feels like a mix between Freeza and Cell (just without a nose). His tail is far too much like Freeza's. The purple "chest armor" reminds me of Freeza's armor/jacket. The horns are too much like Freeza's family's (sheesh, lots of Freeza comparisons). Nothing about the rest of him feels "fresh" at all, either (the "wristbands", the "boots", etc.). Even his color scheme is a re-hash on lots of other previously-appearing villains (Coola, Sauza, Hatchihyakku).

I can deal with Tullece and Bardock's designs, since there's a story/plot purpose behind both of them.

Janeba's design always amused me because he looks rather much like Satan > > The baby one however has..... always looked absolutely terrible. It makes no damn sense and it's just a fat yellow ball with no facial expressions. oO

And c'meon people, it works better if you provide pictures to mock.

I'd say I always disliked Great Saiyaman's first outfit; the one with the helmet. The bandana and glasses aren't so bad, but if he just gets rid of all the icky cranial accessories, he looks completely bad ass.

I think Haseo-kun was referring to the video source of the image and the image's poor quality, not the image itself.

Of course this isn't the first time Toei's done this. I remeber Snow's design being used more than once.

Ah, I don't think all of the Shadow Dragons are so bad.

That fella was good, until the reveal that his real form was a poorly designed one.

If I'm not mistaken, almost all female characters used Bulma or Lunch as a base. Snow's and Maron's hair look similar to me. And there's always the random civilian woman with "boistrous" hair like Lunch's.

I hope "boistrous" is a word, and if it is, I hope I used it right.

EDIT: Holy shit, I have realized this topic has gone three pages without mentioning Hasky. She's Lunch in different clothes! She can't even use King Vegeta's or Bardock's minor facial feature excuse! Her hair isn't even a different color!

I used to think Ozotto design from the Dragonball arcade game was bad but it kinda grew on me.

2nd form Cell is awesome, even Toriyama liked him. But I can't believe noone mentioned Bio Broly... my god...

Is that a Krillin clone in the background?
