Damn straight it would be gratuitous!

I love the character, but I find the fact that he was taken out in the first round of three tournaments, and a forth one if you count Movie 9 really funny. And for the main ones, it wasn't so much from lack of skill, just plain terrible luck in who he got matched up with.

Hm, so that's why I love this page so much. Yeah, a part of me always wanted Trunks to grow up to be a dick. Goten comes off more of a slacker. But that's just my opinion.

That would be my guess. If they were never killed in 768, that gave them over 20 years of chances, let alone the fact that an alternate universe means they could have had a kid prior to 768.
