Damn, that bad? It just seems a bit extreme to make that sort of an accusation...ssjcj wrote:Chatwin makes Hayden Christensen seem worthy of an oscar.
Dragon Ball: Evolution- Speculation and Discussion
I think people need to see an actually terrible movie with terrible acting before they make such claims. From what I have seen so far the movie appears to be mediocre or just ok. It doesn't appear to be terrible. I haven't seen the movie so I can't say for sure, but that's how it looks to me so far.
I'm going on what I have seen. I will watch the film and make a final decision. I am just saying from what I have seen, his performance doesn't look anywhere near as good as I would have liked.omegacwa wrote:I think people need to see an actually terrible movie with terrible acting before they make such claims. The soundtrack is fine and well done and all but, it doesn't really feel like it's appropriate. Like, the ongoing "theme" that plays is the only thing that's close to being memorable and I can't even ACTUALLY remember how it goes. The Iron Man main theme tune I would never forget, the one they used for the movie though just feels a bit too simplistic.
As for it being not so appropriate...I don't know, would there be anything wrong with doing some of the BGM tunes from the series using a movie orchestra? Mystical Adventure being done in that style would be amazing.

I think there was copyright issues.
Anyway I love the soundtrack, and Brian Tyler is a huge fan of the show... he said he called the director for the job before they even filmed it because he was such a huge fan of the show in the 80's and 90's...
Soundtrack is definitely not in the list of my issues with the movie.

If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Certainly no where among the lines of Garbage Pail Kids or Troll 2 bad, but for a movie that's been pushed as some "big blockbuster" just because of the license it's using, it's pretty bad.omegacwa wrote:I think people need to see an actually terrible movie with terrible acting before they make such claims. I'd say among the lines of Double Dragon and Super Mario Bros. bad, with the acting of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Well, it's probably just you, the soundtrack reminds me a lot more of the spiderman soundtracks, I personally don't hear anything like batman.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:I'm listening to the soundtrack, and it's ok, but as Kirbopher mentioned, there's the ongoing theme, and that's really the only memorable thing. And, is it just me, or does that theme sound a lot like the Danny Elfman Batman theme?

I wonder if someone will sub the Japanese dub before April rolls around.

I'd be curious to hear what Ussop!Goku and Haruhi!Bulma sound like in the Japanese dub, but aren't they also running the movie in English with subtitles in Japan as well? The leaked in-theater clips from yesterday were in English.
On hiatus.

I've read Greg's review. And as he said, watch the film and form your own opinion. That's what I'll do.
Lord knows I like things many hate.

You thought the idea of a movie based on a game where a silent hero saves a princess from a crazy mutant turtle was a cool concept? Really? REALLY?mrkaizoku wrote: I've said it once and I'll say it again this movie is
exactly the same as Super Mario Brothers the movie and Street Fighter the movie, an abysmal attempt at adapting a cool concept and failing miserably every step of the way.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
Well, we can all blame Capcom for the failings of the new Street Fighter movie because apparently they had a huge hand in it and it was there decision to make Chun Li the main character and not have Ryu and Ken. Also they are the ones that decided the the characters shouldn't look at all like there game counterparts, because well all know, that's what made the JCVD Street Fighter bad
Well, just from the clips I have seen, my main issue now appears to be the movie feels rushed through. Like they had to get everything in 1 or 2 takes and that the movie had to be less than an hour and 45 minutes. It appears that they don't linger on anything, which is fine, but fight scenes should be more than a minute, and emotional scenes should be drawn out a bit to build tension. From what I have seen it's like:
Hey Gohan is dead, hey your bulma, hey it's master roshi, find the dragonballs, hey piccolo, end of movie.
