山本健司 (Kenji Yamamoto)

His works:

Composition
Shura Iro No Senshi
Battle Point Unlimited (Used as a BGM in DBZ Episode 120)
BGMs for DBZ Super Butouden Series on SNES/SFC
BGMs for DBZ Shin Butouden on SS / Ultimate Battle 22 on PS

Adaptation
Cha-La-Head-Cha-La
Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai Power
Mind Power ...Ki...
Unmei No Hi ~Tamashii vs. Tamashii~
Tenkaichi Gohan
Piccolo-san Daaisuki?
And many other DB-related Songs

Personally, I like his works, but I'm really dissapointed because this means that they'll never use Shunsuke Kikuchi's great musics on DBZ anymore.... And the possibility of release of the DB and DBZ complete BGM CD BOX has almost completely vanished..
Dream come true. I may find this more enjoyable than the original series, as Yamamoto has always been my favourite Dragonball composer. This show has my full blessing, can't wait to watch Dragonball Kai!

Well...I am disappointed that Kikuchi's score won't be reused, however if it had to be I'm glad it's be someone who's worked the DragonBall Franchise before. Hell, he's the composer of probably my favorite piece of BGM in all of DB (Battle Points Unlimited). So I have no doubt in my mind that he'll do a good job.

This seems to be a theme throughout DragonBall Kai news. Though some aspects disappoint people, at the same time they're (at least initially) able to accept it and not throw a shit fit. I think this prove that Toei is treating DB Kai with much care. I feel this way because even though there are changes coming about, it's done in a way to please fans and uphold the integrity of the original series. At least that's how it appears to me. April 5'th we'll know for sure.

Finally, the seiyu for Kamesen'nin has been announced(leaked?)!!

Toshio Furukawa's website
http://www.topio.jp/

Masaharu* Satou is going to act Kamesen'nin.
*I misread his name. Changed

His roles in DB series:
Kamesen'nin in DBZ movie 13
Burakku Sanbou (Adjutant Black)
Saichourou (ep.100-)
Shenron (dbz ep.192, 193)
Corudo Daiou (King Cold, ep.195)
And many side characters

Edit:
(A photo after rcording of DB Kai)
Image

Rear: Masaharu Satou(Kamesen'nin), Ryou Horikawa(Vegeta), Toshio Furukawa(Piccolo), Shigeru Chiba(Raditz)
Front: Jouji Yanami(Narrator), Mayumi Tanaka(Krillin), Masako Nozawa(Goku, Gohan)

I was quite surprised Ryo Horiyawa was at the recording.
Does this mean Vegeta will appear in episode 1...?
And I noticed that there are not all Seiyus should be in the first few ep. in this photo.

Interesting! Maybe Vegeta is in a flashback. Like young Vegeta during the Bardock stuff. I don't remember if he said anything in the special though.

Oh, did Ryo Horikawa do King Vegeta's voice as well?

I'm surprised Horikawa was recording as well. I wonder if he's got a cut away in episode one or they did more than one episode that day. Hmmm...

In the original Japanese dub, King Vegeta was voiced by many Seiyus, but never done by Ryo Horikawa.

Ginga Banjou (ep.78 )
Yukimasa Kishino (ep.124)
Masaharu Satou (1st Broly)

Ah, okay, thanks. Well, it's still one possibility I suppose.

Er....yeah, I know. I had to try.

Maybe the guy who voiced King Vegeta in Sparking METEOR will take over full time. Or...Horikawa-san?

With all the ambushing of Dragon Ball Z stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if we see something like this:

*Cheap rock music plays*
Chris Sabat's voice: "Get ready for the Evolution of a classic..."

*A very Americanized-looking cartoon with something that resembles Goku and Bulma is playing*

Sabat: "Dragon Ball Evolution! The new series! Follow along Goku and Bulma as they quest for the sacred Dragon Balls."

Goku: "I don't think I can do this. How can I possibly defeat someone like Piccolo?"

Bulma: "You are Earth's only hope. You can do this. If you don't, the entire world will die."

Sabat: "Own the first 24 episodes of Season one, which includes the entire Piccolo Saga!"

Chi-Chi: "Goku, if you don't do this, everyone we know will die!"

Yamcha: "He's targetting the high school!"

Goku "No! Please! Don't attack all of my friends!"

Sabat: "Uncut and in it's original format"

Piccolo: "The speed of your Nimbus cannot match my magical speed... Even if it is an SRT-8!"

Roshi: "You must find the legendary parts for your Nimbus. You must become faster than Piccolo"

Goku: "I don't know if it's possible to beat him. I'm so scared..."

Sabat: "Own the Evolution of a legend. Based on the award-winning movie. DRAGON BALL EVOLUTION, the Animated Series!!"

Lol, that was very funny. Does Sabat actually do the voice-overs for the season sets? The promos I mean?

That picture is cool.

Ryo Horikawa is too good. I'm guessing his role in the first episode will be a flashback.

He's not the one who's been doing the Video Games recently, right? The one who's been doing all of the Video Games recently is the same one who did GT, right? (I'm too lazy right now to look it up  )

Kind of odd that they wouldn't go for consistency from the past few years.

That would be Hiroshi Masuoka (for both GT and Video Games).

For the record, here are all of Kamesennin's voices:

- Kouhei Miyauchi (Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z 2-260)
- Masaharu Satou (Movie 13)
- Kinya Aikawa (10th Anniversary Special)
- Hiroshi Masuoka (DBZ 288-291, Dragon Ball GT, Recent Video Games, 2008 Jump Special)

As was noted to us when we did the podcast episode, Joji Yanami actually did the voice one random episode in DB :P. Think it was 23rd Tenka-ichi Budokai. Pretty sure we mentioned it the episode after thanks to the e-mail.

There's an update over at the Jumpland Dragonball DVD Blog; it's mostly about the last three Dragon Box The Movies individual discs, but there's a little bit at the bottom about DB Kai. It seems to be just another reminder about the premier date and all, but at least we get an official clean image of the logo!

Why did Jumpland pick Yamcha and Oolong as their DB blog avatars, out of curiosity? Is there a reason?
On hiatus.

So, exactly how many Dragonball Kai related posts have there been on the Fuji TV site?

I don't think it has ever been officially explained. Just for comedic reasons, I guess.
