Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

How bad was the Arabic dub of the original Dragon Ball. Is it as bad as DBZ or worse?

When I went on visits to Jordan, and stayed there for a year, I used to see the Arabic dub of Pokemon, Dragon Ball, and Future Boy Conan once in a while. Future Boy Conan was really popular and had that dubbed for about 25 years now and didn't have it censored too much. If I remember correctly they had Conan and Jimsy eat frogs and pigs even though that is against Muslim beliefs.
Future Boy Conan was dubbed by another company related with Gulf Cooperation Council, and they had the best dubs in the history of Arabian dubs like Dinosaur Wars Aizenborg (FTW)
what is the controversy with Pokemon, I didn't see any complaints or disgusts while I was there
There was some stupid guy who proclaimed that Pokemon had Jewish meanings and how it destroys the minds of kids with the theory of Evolution and the card game teachs gambling and give the thought of using the animals for fights and all that trash... and that was the straw that broke the camel's back

Sorta... nothing differs a lot between each other ((with the first 13 episodes...? c'mon...))

It can be said about almost anything involving that region of the world, but you have to feel sorry for them with how cultural attitudes and values dictate media texts.
I'm not ready for this.

Or do they maybe don't show the transformation and add the voice actor commanding the giant ape as if they (the saiyan) is still on the ground? HOW!?
I uploaded a clip from the episode 31, Vegeta summons his Oozaru.

I love how they did the widescreen on this release. I wish FUNI did this but kept their brighter colors in 1080p. That would really kept the fans from complaining as much about the cropped footage. Why doesn't Toei or FUNI do this?
Aka gtadbzman.

You think the viewers would have picked up the Ape having the same armor as Vegeta, especially the damage.
And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.

Even so, this "release" is horrible. I think everyone on the planet should have Dragonbox footage on the DVD releases and nothing else.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't the Arab dub go any further than episode 52? Was the show just not popular enough or did the authorities there decided they didn't want the show to exist for some reason?

Who knows... maybe the dub didn't want to do keep up with a very long series other than Conan.

And for the record, DBZ was 54 episodes

Btw, do most Arab dubs get censored?

Are there any Arabic language companies which specialize in doing uncensored dual-dvd's at all? Or does basically one company monopolize anime in the Arabic-speaking world?

Finally....

will this ever be translated? I found this by accident while looking up arabic dubs/shows on tv, it's a Malaysian cartoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBmfSDG-yTg

There's an intro in English, but I'm not sure if the rest ever will be. I'm really curious to see it just to see how the Muslims will portrays both the Christians and the Muslims during that time period.

Also, here's the Arabic regular intro.

(correction, I think the language might be Malay or something else, although I'm not quite certain)
