Yes, Genki reviewed it at his forum.

Viz should just release unedited Kanzenban, I mean it's kind of a guaranteed money maker if you ask me.

I took a quick look yesterday at Bruna (Dutch bookstore) but I didn't see it.
I did see those small pocket sized Dragonball manga lying there.

But I'll check again tomorrow.

Even with the edits they have now, I'd buy a Kanzenban edition of the manga in english.
If you haven't noticed, the VizBIG editions are basically the same thing as the kanzenban: larger, high-quality paper with color pages and superior printing quality.
I like the VizBigs, don't get me wrong. But I mean...with ALL color pages, please.

If the VizBigs had all color pages, I'd be COMPLETELY happy with them. But I'd drop them in a heartbeat for any edition with all color pages.

I love those color pages. A lot. =(
Yes, they don`t have all the color.

But they still are very good. I like them a lot.

Bruna sucks when it comes to manga... I guess other book/comic stores do have it now, a forummember of mine has bought the Kanzenban yesterday at a comic store.

Most comicstore in my neighbourhood only have old comics and merchandise not much new.

But I just checked the site of Bruna again and first it said the release was march 18th then it changed to march 21st and now it just says march :?

I guess there's some delay or something.

Thanks to some forummembers of mine I do know for a fact that the Kanzenban is indeed for sale, it's just Bruna being evil again... A forummember of mine also ordered it from Bruna and it said it would take three days, so I guess I'll be hearing about that pretty soon.

I myself haven't been in town so far... I'm planning to do so this week though. I want the Kanzenban so badly @_@.

Leeuwarden... And I probably visit the Selexyz first, and if they don't have it I'll visit a comic book store.

I found the first Dutch Kanzenban :D .

I e-mailed my comic store the 19th of march, and they said they had it in stock, so I went and picked it up.

Image

The dutch translation is much, much better than the one used in the previous "toilet paper" release. (For those interested, the previous one was occasionaly Babelfish-esque, and they translated Son Goku's name as Sangoku. Without a space and an "a" instead of an "o" in Son. Seriously.)

They also added footnotes under some of the panels providing information on (sometimes trivial) things.
For example, they explain the fact Bulma's name is a play on "bloomers", the translation of Nyoi Bô, why the DB's have funny names, etc. I'm not sure if the Viz editions had this or not, but I found this to be one of the cooler things of this particular release.

Overall: well worth it, despite the fact €11,xx is kinda expensive.

I think I'm going to order it online as well.
I've been to SIX different (comic)book stores today.... nothing.

I'll wait till the end of the week and after that I'm ordering.

I'm so pissed right now.
It's like the north is always 2, 3 weeks behind or something.
To think the Netherlands is such a small country really ticks me off in situations like this.

Yeah, the book stores don't really care about manga. Especially comic stores, who still try to hold on to the old dutch comics which they read 50 years back... :x

Alright, here's my small review of the dutch Kanzenban ^_^.

I loved the little facts some pages have. Such as the kanji that keeps changing on Oolong's "armor", first it says "I have guts" then it changes to "It burns!" and after that to "Auch, I'm in pain!" :P Very funny. I never knew this and I never realized it either.

The translation has also improved when comparing it to the manga we had here earlier, with only a few errors. It's too bad that they don't use Japanese suffixes(sp?) such as -kun and -chan. Oolong!Bulma calls Puar!Goku Goku-chan for example, but in this version of the Kanzenban they translated it to "little Goku" :p (which is correct but it just reads odd)

I'm glad that Goku is called Goku and Son Goku instead of Sangoku (as in the previous edition from French). It's kind of annoying that Bulma keeps saying "Son Goku" instead of "Son-kun"...

But other then that, fantastic book! I loved the artwork in the back!!

This is sounding more and more impressive. Once I come into some money I'll probably pick them up to replace my crummy tankoubon version, especially since it's the French one.

Mine is dutch, not french! You know, the Netherlands and France are two different countries with two completely different languages! :P

Blah, it's too bad that France get's all the "Ooohh you guys are getting the Kanzenban" vibe while we got it the same day and no one mentions it at all ;_; *except for me*

...This concludes my rant.

:P
