I watch it in Japanese. I started watching it English dub with original music, but then started watching it in Japanese as the English became a bit corny and I didn't mind reading subtitles.

Right now, I'm at when Cell first makes the Cell Jrs.

Given the horrid slow pace of the anime, it goes to show just how good Bruce was when he made that music, that it can keep the audience interested for just grotesquely long periods of inaction.
I actually can't stand to watch the dub with Bruce's score. That nonstop redundant badly synthesized music just starts to sound like unnecessary background noise to me. The reason I like the Japanese score is that it's sparse and works with the scene to build an emotion instead of just blazing constantly with "XTREMENESS" for 22 minutes. For instance I feel like dead silence as someone dies and then having the camera slowly focus on a close up of the villain's smirking face as the music builds up to a climax is far more effective then nonstop techno rock despite what's being shown on screen. I also don't care for those pseudo Tom and Jerry sound effects that are put into the music, those are extremely jarring to hear (for instance when someone is knocked into a mountain the music usually does that Hannah Barbara spiraling noise.)
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

The first minute and 30 seconds are probably the most epic.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

I believe you mean Row Row ^^

And the reason Gurren Lagann came to mind is because it defines Epic < < With the exception of maybe two episodes (because Roissiu fails at life), but those were necessary for what was to happen next.

But yeah. This is why I'd be interested in the show reanimated- we could cut down and cut time and seriously ramp things up and feel the heat and power of the moment. They could do things worse too, but I always want to hope for the best. I think.... they could really do something amazing.

This is also what draws me to fanfiction- the good stuff brings out the best in the series and eases past/ignores the bad parts to really catch you up in the characters and their struggles.
