Movie 10 American Release Date?

Post by Idontknowhasnoclue » Thu Nov 18, 2004 4:12 pm

Hello I wast just wondering, if anyone had the exact release date for DBZ Movie 10, I just purchased DBGT- A Hero's Leagacy, and in the book inside the DVD case it stated Spring 2005 The Ultimate Super Saiyan Is Back, so i clearly in the spring of course but that should have put a date on the DVD or something I'm going crazy. Funimation takes to long on the releases for The DBZ-Movies. And Why might i add are do they put such a gap between the release dates of the movies, clearly they have up to DBZ-Movie 12 Dubbed because of the clips on the Hero's Legacy DVD. And the First and Second Season of DBZ, they are clearly done with from what i saw on the DVD as well, they where up to the Ginyu part of the season. Oh well sorry to bug you just looking for clueless information on the DVD's because I'm really trying to Get all of Dragonball-Z-Gt on DVD and I'm almost caught up with some of the releases but funimation makes it really hard when they wait forever ro release the DVD's they just have them lying aroung waiting to released. Well I say "Release Them NOW!"

Thank You,
Chris Moore

There is no date set. When it is announced, you'll find it on sites like this one and AnimeOnDVD.

The reason they're taking so long is pretty obvious, as far as I see it... DBZ is over. Really, it's over. Besides four more movies and the re-dub, it's all been on TV, it's all out on VHS (only a few left to come out on DVD, but they've already aired on TV)... it's just over.

DBZ is the "biggest" property they have within the DB franchise (well... of ALL their stuff, really), and so the more DBZ stuff they can leech off of, the better. If they put it ALL out now... there's nothing left for them to leech off of in the future. Better to take it slow and be able to hype.

I'm almost positive the clips from Season 1 and 2 were done just for the extra. I'm also pretty sure I heard those seasons music as supposed to Falconer's or the original. Same with Movie 12, it didnt seem like it was the final thing, it also had Menza's music.

This question has been asked since the dvd came out. FUNI did a ton of extra voice work for the Budokai games, wich is why I think they just dubbed the clips for the extra. Also some what related, remember all the flashback scenes in the Kid Buu fight? They had to dub those just for the flashbacks.

FUNI does this all the time, I dont know why fans automatically think the product is comming out.

But EX is right. DBZ is basically over in America, as of Spring 2003. FUNI has FullMetal Alchemist to focus on now.

Actually, from what I understand, the seasons 1+2 redubs have been dubbed and completed for moooooooooooooooonths, now.

Yup! Don't believe it? Hear it from Chris Sabat on the Budokai 3 Collector's DVD! He clearly states that they are done with the series, Movie 12's clip was probably done just for the feature though...

And yes, it is all marketing... they don't want to rush things, because:

#1 - builds a demand for the product
#2 - The longer it's around, the longer it'll be in the public's minds, which leads to more sales of related materials.

Really... Those scenes in the extra sounded like crap. I really hope the redub is better than that.
