Actually, people to this day still claim Legends to be 'one of the best' if not 'THE best' DBZ games around... better, even, than either of the Budokai titles or SSW/BT.

It's most likely because it has the highest number of characters, remains far more faithful to the source than many other DBZ games that came before it, and... er... there is no third point to this.

More faithful to the source? I don't know...it just seemed like a constant locked-on battle with very little variety in attack building up to a "cinematic" super. This premise is usually true in the other games as well but, for some reason in Legends it felt particularly robotic.

Well, I get the feeling they were trying something beyond 'yet another fighting game'... and they did manage to succeed with something that does mimic DBZ's fighting style, to an extent.

The Super Butoden games were robotic. Hyper Dimension was Street Fighter with a DBZ paint job. The RPGs were all card games and thus silly. UB22 and Final Bout were somewhat crappy upgrades of the SB games.

Legends broke from that mold, making something sort of like a fighting game, but not really. It didn't involve any cards, it wasn't a take on any other games, and it most certainly wasn't along the lines of UB22 or FB.

... true, the 'attack until you get super' formula got pretty boring after awhile. But meh.

Wow...just got the game today...playing non-stop...too much to take in at once. To quote a greasy fast food clown, I'm lovin' it!

I was dissapointed to find out Tullece isn't Bardocks alternate costume...it's just a grey Bardock. Weak. :?

I got it today at about 8:00pm and I just stoped playing it now (1:00am)

I found Bulma in the 11th or 12th training lesson, but I still can't be her, you just see what she looks like in the game as a fighter in battle mode.

I saw that too; which only strengthens my belief that you can play as/against her, somehow. After all, they gave her a a CG model and everything. It would be a waste not to use it.

EDIT: Come to think of it, there was something in particular that struck me as hilarious about the game. I thought Dimps liked Yamcha, but this game is filled with jokes at his expense.

Yamcha: "Girl Fang Fist!"

Kuririn: "Huh? Didn't that use to be the WOLF fang fist?"

Yamcha: "Uh yeah, isn't that what I said?"

Then the final training mode, where he "teaches" Tenshinhan how to taunt.

But the best, is when you evade his Sukidon attack. Your character dodges his energy shot, then it comes back and nails him in the face. Classic.

It's almost confirmed that you can play as her.

Go to http://www.cmgsccc.com/ps2/index.php?multi=152&page=7, which has code breaker cheats for Budokai 3. In that session, the codes for system capsules are listed... and Bulma is in there, just below the other fighters. So, yes, there IS a system capsule for Bulma, which means that she is unlockable, somehow. Either that, or no one will ever get 100% of the capsules in this game...

I saw that in Gamefaqs, though I went to the site itself to check those news. Also, two GF users confirmed that the code works.

Wow, it's actually good? That's... great!

I enjoyed B2, but only in an "I'm playing as a 3D Yamcha" kind of way. I'll look forward to this... Sadly I have to wait until Christmas, as I have to spend all my wages on buying Christmas presents. I tell ya, Christmas as a 20 year old sucks... well, until the actual day, that is.

Keep the posts coming and let's see how jealous I can really be!
Er.... No.

Mine should be here today. *Hugs Jers again* And if it's not I shall shoot the mail man when he does come. *nod nod* I can't wait to play! ;_;

Anyway, so far no sign of Turles eh? Possibly a third outfit. Hehehe, and I have the feeling that once I've unlocked her I'll be playing is Bulma quite a bit. ^^

So how's everyone doing for characters? I spent most of my free time yesterday playing Dragon Universe, so I'm pretty loaded. It's better to list who I don't have :P. I do not have (as of yet): Uub, Mr. Satan, #16, Kaioshin, Saibaiman, Cell Jr., Coola (and of course... #19, Dodoria, Zarbon, Shin, & Bulma :P). Need Vegeta's SSJ4 capsule, too.

Bought Chibi Goku's "Super Dragon Fist" last night (for 50,000 Zeni! Aiya!). First thing I did was go to Practice mode, set him to orange gi, set CPU as Piccolo, and perform the super move :P. OMG FANBOY ORGASM.

Finish DU with Broly! I don't have the game (delayed for another week!) but I'll find a way of playing it even if I don't own it (stingy boy will! Oh, he hates DBZ for some reason!)!

Question for anyone who has the game: is it true that every character in the game has their own seperate story in Dragon Universe? Ending, too?
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

First, to answer Tanooki. 1) Beat DU with Brolly. 2) Find Grandpa Gohan's house (or so I've heard).

Second, to answer The S, though I don't have it yet from what I've heard there's only a select group of charas with a DU story. Both Goku's, Brolly, Vegeta, Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan, Krillin, Yamcha, and Piccolo. Those are the ones I know, there's probably others though.

From what I've heard and seen, there are only 11 playable characters in DU...

Goku
Kid Gohan
Young (or "Teen") Gohan
Gohan
Yamcha
Tenshinhan
Piccolo
Kuririn
Vegita
Broly

... and Uub.

I'm still trying to unlock: 16, Videl, Mr. Satan, Coola, Kaioshin, Broli, Oob, Yi Xing Long, Gogeta, & Bulma.

To tell the truth though, I'm suprised with how fast I'm progressing through DU, and these static story telling sequences are already getting on my nerves. >.>

Would Chibi Goku be the same as Goku? He's in DU.

No, Goku is DBZ Goku. This is the list mentioned by I-Guides. If Chibi Goku has a DU, it's apparently a hidden one.

I got the game the other day. I think the fighting is better in this one with the addition of some things like teleporting ect. Some thoings could've still been improved, though. One thing I really hate is Dragon Rush. It happens way too often, gets borong after just a few times, and I don't like gambling moves(I prefere things that rely on your own abilities, not moves where you have to just keep guessing and hope you get lucky...).
DU was fun. Some parts seemed rushed, though. I beat it with all 11 characters. I wonder why Broly's DU starts with it talking about the history of Buu? That didn't make any sense since Buu had nothing to do with Broly's story. I'll never forget how many times I used Goku's ultimate on Kid Buu before I finaly figured out what you have to do to get uub.
I was hoping for more "what if" things in this game. But, instead, not only was there no new "what ifs",(unless you count the Piccolo absorbtion. I wonder why they didn't base it off the appearance it actually did have in the show?) they removed the ones that were there before... And here I was really hoping to fuse with Mr Satan in Goku's DU and kick Buu's butt...
Too bad they wasted their time on Ii shenron(GT garbage in a Z game...Yuck! :P ) instead of making Pikhan or Janenba(two Z characters ppl were really wanting). If Bulma turns out to be some sort of top secret character, I'll be quite suprised... It's hard to imagine how she'd fight...

wow, I just got the game, but I haven't been able to play it much (still haven't unlocked anyone). I've been trying to catch up on other games [GTA:SA, MGS3, MK:Deception] especially since the PS2 Holiday 2004 Demo Disc erased everything from my memory card.

>> off topic << Has any of you played this demo? (the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo included on this disc has a glitch that erases the saves from the memory cards) and that happened to me
