Greatest mind in Dragon World.

Who do you think is the greatest mind in Dragon World; Son Gohan, Bulma, Dr. Briefs, Dr. Gero, or Senbei?

Senbei created a much more sophisticated and convenient time machine than Future Bulma, and did so about 20ish years sooner with no charging time. However, he was utterly stumped by her Dragon Radar.

Bulma skipped school many times because it was too easy, implying she inherited her father's intelligence (meaning she's just a natural when it comes to that sort of thing). However, Gohan was forced to study study study, and became that great scholar Chi-Chi always dreamed of him. His house is riddled with books and whatever his job is; orthodontist, scientist, teacher, or capsule corp researcher, all of the above, he worked hard for it, so it could be possible he surpassed Bulma in the brains department since she slacked off in school similar to how he did in the Buu saga.

Dr. Briefs invented Capsule technology, but was seemingly amazed at Android 16's technology and Androids 17 & 18's blueprints.

My pick: Senbei. Despite his shortcomings in his personality, despite how wacky and sometimes useless his inventions are or can be, I think he's the top genius in Dragon World. I think the only reason he was stumped by the Dragon Radar is because he didn't know what he was dealing with, or the frequency of radiation that the Dragon Balls give off, etc.

(I didn't count Turbo since, if I remember right, he was enhanced by aliens. If I were to count him, then Turbo would be the top mind in my opinion).

Ooooh, alrighty.

I'd still probably go with Dr. Briefs. His area of expertise was never humanoid robots, so that surprised him. It's like a guy who makes computers being wowed by the complexities of a car. I’ll always go with the guy who’s found ways to fundamentally alter matter to suck houses full of furniture and food and shit into itty little capsules.

Why do people always say Gohan? We know he studies a lot and he eventually does become a scholar of some sort, but what has he ever done with his brain? Ever?

Bulma invented a time machine, given enough time and motivation. My vote goes to her.

I always thought that Piccolo was pretty on the ball, but out of the given choices I would have to go with Dr. Briefs, and then Bulma.

Pic's damn smart, but he's not the same kind of thinker as these scientists. It's a completely different ballpark there.

I like to think that with all the meditation and what-not, Piccolo's pretty knowledgeable of the mind and how it works. And he uses that to his advantage in combat.

I assume that's why Baby called him the "most brilliant fighter," or something like that.

That and the whole refused-with-god thing that gives who knows what kind of insight into the working of things. Out of the fighters he's definitely the smartest, but he could still never invent something like androids or a car or a time machine.

I guess so, Dr. Slump is part of the Dragon World since Penquin Island did show up in the show and it's on all the maps.

But leaving out Dr. Slump characters, I'd say Bulma, she can modify alien technologies and can build Dragon Radars from scratch.

Sure Dr. Brief invented Hoi Poi Capsules, but his daughter is so much smarter than he is.

What about Dr. Wheelo?! He was famous enough that Bulma knew about him and Dr. Kochin and their researchs.

The only downsize about his intellegance is how the hell he thought that he can put his gigantic brain in a small body????!!!

Unless it shrinks during the transferring process...?!

And let's not forget Dr. Mashirito [REJECTED]

I'm going to nix the Senbei guy, as I haven't read/watched any of that stuff, and it doesn't really fall into the dragonball story, per se.

Gohan, I think was a smart guy and a great scholar, as ChiChi had hoped, but I don't think he had quite the natural talents that Bulma and Brief had. He was merely book-smart.

I think it comes down to Dr. Brief and Bulma. In the end, I tend to want to say Bulma. Dr. Brief was brilliant, indeed, but he came to rely on Bulma more and more throughout the series.

I think on Toriyama's design drawing for the mech there's a normal small brain, and Toei made it huge to be more impressive. Said page I think had a note from Toriyama that that was effing weird, but oh well.

I'd have to vote for Dr. Gero. Sure, he was evil but he did manage to create artficial beings with a power greater than that of the Universe's self-proclaimed emperor... Dr. Briefs and Bulma both had a hell of a time to crack his intricate designs.
Also, I think Bibidi may have been hyperintelligent seeing as he also managed to create a major threat to the universe. It might just be some powerful form of magic, though.
