I loved the little facts some pages have. Such as the kanji that keeps changing on Oolong's "armor", first it says "I have guts" then it changes to "It burns!" and after that to "Auch, I'm in pain!" :P Very funny. I never knew this and I never realized it either.

The translation has also improved when comparing it to the manga we had here earlier, with only a few errors. It's too bad that they don't use Japanese suffixes(sp?) such as -kun and -chan. Oolong!Bulma calls Puar!Goku Goku-chan for example, but in this version of the Kanzenban they translated it to "little Goku" :p (which is correct but it just reads odd)

I'm glad that Goku is called Goku and Son Goku instead of Sangoku (as in the previous edition from French). It's kind of annoying that Bulma keeps saying "Son Goku" instead of "Son-kun"...

But other then that, fantastic book! I loved the artwork in the back!!
Once I come into some money I'll probably pick them up to replace my crummy tankoubon version, especially since it's the French one.
Mine is dutch, not french! You know, the Netherlands and France are two different countries with two completely different languages! :P

Blah, it's too bad that France get's all the "Ooohh you guys are getting the Kanzenban" vibe while we got it the same day and no one mentions it at all ;_; *except for me*

...This concludes my rant.

:P
But they're both Glenat. :P

It's hard for us to get that vibe if the Kanzenban is only released in some random comicbook stores around the country.

I'm ordering it next week I'm fed up with waiting for it to show up in the stores.

The stores in our country don't give a damn when it comes to manga.. In France, anime and manga is hugely popular and countless of series have been released.

That's why I think it's pretty amazing that a mangaless country like ours also got to have the Kanzenban.

It's more Glénat's fault. They never sell their manga in normal bookstores. At least not in Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam and Den Haag.

And as always, here in czech republic, we got nothing as usual
I'm making translations of kanzenban to czech, but because DB isn't in TV here (you can't find nothing here, only books in english dfrom Gollancz manga in bookstore for foreigners and Z manga is missing), it will probably end on some personal site for few members of Dragon Ball fanbase
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

Ironically in Canada (specifically Quebec) it's the opposite. No comic shop will carry Glenat unless a customer asks them to special order it. Meanwhile the French manga sections of major book stores are loaded with Glenat's products.

Actually, the 3 Bruna's I visited had manga's of Naruto and a couple of other manga of Glénat. Only no Dragon Ball.

Naruto is a kana manga in the Netherlands (just as Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh, Death note, Monster and Shaman King).

I loved the Kanzenban btw.

Guess what, according to a dutch bookstore volume 2 of the dutch kanzenban will be released today.

Of course the dutch site of Glenat hasn't been updated yet (and is filled with bugs)... Also nice how they spelled "Dagon Ball".. No wonder I didn't find it before today.

I suppose the French got it this month as well?

Congratulations on getting the Kanzenban release. :3

Looking through their site, I noticed something; is Glenat really only up to volume 8 of One Piece? That actually makes Viz look efficient.

Though to Glenat's credit they actually have mostly 2 or sometimes 3 month gaps in-between volumes; which isn't nearly as horrific as Viz's 4 month wait.
(Which only stings further given the fact that other titles which Viz began releasing after OP have gotten special treatment with ridiculous "3 new volumes each month" situations and have since caught up to the Japanese releases. At its current rate it'll take Viz's release of One Piece OVER EIGHT YEARS to catch up to where it is right now in Japan.)
On hiatus.

Meh, considering we got the first volume around the same time I figured it would be the same for the second release... But ah well..!

Wow, Viz releases stuff once every four months? But they do release a lot more series than companies do here so that could be why.

You know, I'm half french, and think it's annoying that Americans are jealous and complaining towards what they do not get.

They're FAR, FAR longer out in the series, but I guess they might have an xxx version like Glenat's done with Dragonball (I think they have put it out at least 5 times now).

Yeah, it's either a reprint or bad website info. To give you an idea of how long Glenat's had One Piece, I used to collect Naruto from them because VIZ didn't it yet as it wasn't huge in North America yet. At the time it came out in French, One Piece was already around book 20 by them. If not for VIZ's recent 11 books in a 3 month period stint instead of the usual 1 book per 3 months, Glenat would be 9 or 10 books ahead of VIZ for Naruto instead of 2 behind. Since VIZ seems to have started One Piece and Naruto at the same time, we can assume that One Piece was around book 30 by Glenat when VIZ started translating it.

Back on-topic, anybody know what happened to the Canadians shipment for Glenat's Perfect Files? I intend on getting these starting June or July, so I was very surprised when I noticed they're not in stores already. After checking Amazon.ca, they say it takes 1-2 months to ship the first one, and still have the second and third as being pre-orders for the start and end of June.

I can't speak for French people, but as an outside observer I can say that Americans are on a large scale generally very unsatisfied and bitch loudly. At least that's the impressions I've gotten throughout various message boards, and multimedia.
