How do you unlock Cooler in Budokai 3?

I want to know from someone that unlocked him... I fought him 3 times during the Freeza Saga, but no luck!! I see everywhere that you're supposed to talk to SS Vegeta before fighting Cooler, but I went all over the map and no events appeared... What gives? Can anyone explain to me how to do this as if I were a frikkin' 5-year old?

Uhg! man why is everyone getting these cool fighters, Iam up to Kid Boo on Goku's DU, but haven't even seen Cooler...uhg! what Iam I doing wrong? What?!

I haven't unlocked Coola yet myself; however, I heard that you can only do it on your third time (and after) on Goku's DU.

I did fight Metal Coola though, he's at Trunks' time machine in the Android saga. How does that make sense?

Same goes; I've fought Metal Coola tooooons of times. I think you could have unlocked him on the second time through Goku's DU, but I don't remember the requirements... I'm trying not to spoil anything

. I guess third time through is fine... even though Goku's takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R...

I unlocked him about an hour ago. I wasn't even thinking about unlocking him yet, it just happened. After I beat Frieza on the 2nd time through Goku's story, I fought Vegeta who had turned into a Super Saiyan. After I beat him I had to fight Cooler. After I beat him he was unlocked.

Yeah, I'm going through DU for the second time as Vegeta, too. I, also, fought Coola right after beating Freeza's first form (as Vegeta, SSJ). However, even after I beat him, I didn't unlock him... very upset...!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT : HOW TO GET COOLER

OK peeps, this is official!

*Beat Goku's DU
*Beat Vegeta's DU
*Replay Goku's DU and fight Freeza the first time
*After that there should be 3 dots on the map, go to the one on the lower left.
*Vegeta has turned Super Saiyan, and killed Freeza, defeat him, and after that Goku will feel a strong presence.
*Go to the dot, fight Cooler, get him, be happy!

If anyone needs more help, I unlocked quite a bit...
