No way, $20 is too much to see a movie that sucks ass.

I'll get the DVD when it's down in price.
Where do you live?

I'm paying about $7 to see it. Or $9 if any of my friends are working and we can't catch a matinee.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I just got back from watching the Dragonball evolution movie, It set me back five pounds ninety - That was off peak on a Thursday at midday.

I think with the exchange rate its eight dollars sixty eight. I'm just glad that I didn't go in the evenings the price almost doubles as it's classed as peak time.

I have to admit, the movie is actually pretty decent. Definitely worth the getting in price, and I am being totally honest I would love to go and see it again. The plot has changed dramatically. (The anime/manga has been rather butchered.) - It was expected. All in all, I quite enjoyed it as did my two friends and my younger brother.

I don't want to spoil anything for anybody that has yet to see it, As I'm not sure if it has launced in US yet. although it launched here yesterday.. Will give a more detailed review in good time.

Now... Go see it! I want to have a damn good gossip about it! :P

Man isn't that what the movies made by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer usually get? I think that's a little too far. At least this movie didn't make me want to kill myself and everyone around me.

Haha, on Rotten Tomatoes, it's at least beating out the Hannah Montana movie.

I'm seeing this tomorrow, trying to drag some dragon ball fans I know along, but I'm not getting too many agreeing.

Down to 23. Looks like the time where it had 40% were its glory days. :P

It's still higher than Hannah Montana though, yeah, which is at 22.

Clearly this uneducated populace doesn't understand the brilliance that is Dragonball Evolution! They'll soon change their tune when the extended directors cut silver package comes out, mark my words!

Who make up the critics on Rotten Tomatoes?
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

There's the average people, and then the "cream of the crop" famous movie critics. Basically it's a link hub IMO.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Say it today. Here are my quick thoughts.

- Pacing of the film was off. Sometimes it was a bit too random.

- Some of the acting seemed off at times.

- Plot was changed BUT I expected it so thats not a let down.

Overall I'll admit I liked the film and buy it on Bluray when it comes out.

I was under the impression that members of the website could rate movies as well... am I wrong?

I believe the official Freshness rating is all 'official' critics. All other critics/ratings/reviews belong to the RT community.

Members can rate movies too, but in their own section with their own separate rating. You'll find most of the "reviews" are either 0% or 100%, and altogether at 38% at the moment.

I actually hope that they make a sequal! 8)

There was a couple of scenes which I did particuarly like, It really isn't as cringeworthy as I thought it to be. I'm definitely getting the DVD/Blueray releases when this comes out!

I just got back from watching it too, the special effects looked nice on screen but that's about it.

It was really funny to see the entire audience burst into laughter at rather serious moments (like for example Goku's summoning speech) XD
Also people actually started cheering and applauding when the movie was over. Woow...

Before the movie started I turned on my PSP and played a DBZ game, and the people behind me said "Wow, there are more DBZ fans here" and so we talked with them and turns out they were also fans and also didn't feel too positive towards the movie. XD

Anyway, it was a fun time despite it being a bad movie. XD

Well, now that people have had a chance to experience the disappointment in "lawl englush speeking territorees," tell me: Was anything actually changed from the Asian theatrical version of the film?
