I have no idea what that is. XD
It's happy tears.

TTuTT = happy tears. :3

I'm not sure where I picked that one up; there's a whole bunch of those I've learned over the years. ^^;

I agree that Toei does take Chi-Chi's education-mama stuff further than it needed to go. I did like the whole "Chi-Chi attempts to go to outer space!" stunt though. Also Dr. Briefs asking her if she'd still like to go after they learn that Gohan and company are already back on Earth. XD
On hiatus.

Wasn't that in the early Namek saga after ChiChi rants when Gohan wants to go with Kuririn and Bulma to Namek in the hospital?

It seems the reviews linked here are always from someone familiar with the DB universe. Here's one from Movie.com, don't know if it's been mentioned but it's short..and really positive?

It's funny. I saw Dragon Ball Evolution yesterday and when I walked out of the theater, there were these 3 skateboard dudes who had also seen the movie outside, in pouring rain, ranting on how DBE sucked. Ahhh...."Fuck the shit!! I didn't see Vegeta!"

There is one moment in the movie that really bugged me, I don't know why.
It was just a really OOC moment, and it stood out to me.

When Roshi catches Bulma, it does a quick shot to Roshi's hand grabbing Bulma's butt.
Then Roshi say's "Oops! sorry" and drops her.
I was just sitting in my chair going "NO! Roshi would have kept on grabbing until Bulma hit him, why would he apologize?"

It's weird that single scene stood out to me. :P

I was one of about 25 people in the theater last night, and I was extremely disappointed. I don't know if it was because of the plotholes, the inconsistencies with the anime/manga, or that the movie was just that bad. I just didn't enjoy it at all. There were some references to the series, but they were totally overshadowed by the negatives.

And someone, please tell me how Roshi firing a Kamehameha right into Goku's face/body would transfer his ki to Goku to revive him. Everyone in the theater was laughing at that part because the effect a close-range Kamehameha would have was thoroughly expounded upon in the Cell Games storyline.

For the record, Piccolo needed more screentime. He was actually pretty good, though completely underdeveloped as a character.

The problem with the movie was that it was confusing in that it didn't set up its plot or setting good, and just bashed all this stuff together. I was confused about how the movie's WORLD worked...it was really f*cked up.

And they rushed it sooo bad.

So, does rule play during the credits?

Yep. It plays during the first minute or so before the secret ending clip. Then after that it's the rest of the credits with the BGM score playing and such.

So they don't play the full song? Man, that sucks...

Come on, America! Embrace the culture! Don't cut it short!

What? When I watched it, Rule definitely started playing AFTER the secret ending clip and I don't remember if it was the full song or not but it was quite long.

On the Piccolo Daimou over Piccolo Ma Junnia thing, if I remember right, James Marsters said that this Piccolo was neither Daimou or Ma Junnia, but rather, they were going to combine the two into the same character for the movies into Lord Piccolo. (Yes, movies as in plural since supposedly it's supposed to be a trilogy.)

I wasn't impressed with the movie. I thought it went way too fast. Bulma and Yamcha had no time to fall in love, but two scenes after she's insulting him for capturing them, bam, they try to kiss.

I don't understand why Goku had to sneak out of his house to go to Ox King's Palace. Gohan seemed like a really kind and reasonable old guy. I could've seen him having his little party with Goku, making it quick, so Goku could go to Chi Chi's. Also, there was food at home. Goku abandoned food. What the hell?

Reviving Master Roshi seemed odd to me. Yes, I know that's how it's done in the manga, but Gohan had died just 7 days earlier. I don't see where Goku's intent calls him to revive the wise old master over his Grandfather that he's grieving over the loss of.

I want to know what happened to Marsters claims of Piccolo being a big character. He was in the movie for like 8 minutes total. Goku had almost no incentive to fight him aside from killing Gohan. But even then, he was more focused on Oozaru. If I remember right, Marsters told us that Lord Piccolo used to be a good guy, but was wrongfully imprisoned 2000 years ago and now he's out and he's pissed about the injustice agaisnt him, hence he's trying to take over the world (OF COURSE!), but he would surely be a good guy in the end. I didn't see any of that.

The explanation of Goku being an Oozaru didn't make sense. Was he the same Saiyan that helped Piccolo so long ago, or is he just another Saiyan that came to Earth during Piccolo's imprisonment and Piccolo is just somehow aware, like Goku's Saiyan ki is different from a humans and he can sense that?

Why is the Oozaru barely the size of the movie Incredible Hulk? It seemed like they pulled a GT with Goku transforming. His clothes rip as an Oozaru, but once he changes back, they're perfectly fine again.

I don't get how a Kamehameha, an attack which translates to Tutrle Destruction Wave, can heal someone. Okay, I get what they were going for; Roshi as transferring ki into Goku. But again, from an attack? Would it have been so hard for Roshi to reach into his pocket and say;

Roshi: I was afriad of using this. It's my last one and we may need it against Piccolo.
Yamcha: What is it?
Roshi: Senzu. A magic bean (heck, I'd accept pill) that can heal you from any injury. Goku, here, take this.

Would that have been so hard? I think more people would buy that over the very same attack used to defeat Piccolo heals Goku.

I was utterly disappointed with the movie, but then my friend made it all better by making one statement; "It's a Dragon Ball movie. When has any Dragon Ball movie made sense with the main story? They all mess up the story somehow, so why should we be so pissed that this one does the same as the rest?"

I gotta admit, he has a point. After that, the movie didn't seem so bad. I'm still not impressed, but I'm not really disappointed anymore. All in all, the worst thing was definitely the pacing. I can't see how the average movie goer will have any clue what's going on. The average Dragon Ball fan will be fine since (s)he knows the story already and doesn't need explanation, but John Doe Jersey will be scratching his head wondering what he just saw.

I'll bet anyone here anything on this. When they do the Saiyan arc, they're gonna skip Raditz entirely and make Vegeta Goku's brother. I'm calling it now.

At most it was around the length of half of the song. It's basically just a shortened version of it (at least it wasn't of those cheaply edited end-credit versions where they just cut off randomly, or at least from what I remember, just a sum up portion of the directors and cast, which by the way was funny because after the Piccolo clip, they start listing the actual cast roll right after, hehe).

I think you have it the other way around. The music that played during the short credits before the clip was just BGM I think, with no vocals, and after the clip Ayumi's "Rule" started playing with the scrolling credits. I don't know if it cut off randomly since we didn't stay till the very end, but assuming the credits list was long enough, I'm thinking it got through a good portion of the song.
Nah, I just saw it today. It was definately Rule playing first, then after Piccolo it cued the Final battle track first I think. I dunno which track for sure but it was a battle theme. I didn't stick by long enough to see if they'd play Rule a second time though.

That's odd... when I saw it, it was also most definitely the nameless BGM first, then the Piccolo scene, THEN "Rule" playing.

... What's going on, here?

I really want to murder someone responsible for the delayed release of DBE in Portugal. We are only going to have the movie in July. How can that be possible? :P

Anyway, do IGN's review really make justice to the movie? Because I am pretty pleased for its review and that is exactly what a Dragonball should be.

Does me living in AUS have something to do with it...? >_> I'm serious, the theatre I watched it in had Rule play first, that part's slapped right in my mind.
