Was the film at least better than Chun-Li?

Chun-Li made Pumaman look like a five star classic.

While DBE wasn't quite Oscar material, it was still entertaining and pretty kickass in a lot of respects. Chun-Li though, was just boring.

I am just happy that someone finally recognizes that I am indeed a target, yet I also been called a “whack job” on here as well but I do not sweat it I will just continue being the dub, GT, DBE loving whack job target.FuniYamcha wrote:Don't worry, Saiyan Professor will be back around to reclaim that.Saiyavenger2941 wrote:Goddamn, how did I become this site's new favorite target?Pain wrote: You sound like a whiny baby.

I love how they justified taking Firefly off the air: "The plot is too dificult to follow if you miss an episode, unlike 24."Dayspring wrote:
Wow... fuck you, FOX. They didn't even air the damn series in order! I was completely confused when I got the box set.
Seriously? Chun-Li had better fights than DBE. That bathroom brawl trumps the Mai/Chi Chi snorefest on the chick-fight-o-meter. The movie had flaws, and was otherwise very mediocre. DBE was straight up bad. The saving grace is that DBE is probably more fun, especially if watched with friends.Dayspring wrote:Was the film at least better than Chun-Li?
Wait, I knew about the others, but DBE is on the list too? I don't mean a liking, full on *love*? Sorry, not calling you a whack job, I'm just having trouble figuring that. The only movies of this caliber that people usually love are ones they have nostalgia for (ex- I love the Guyver live action film, cuz I saw it when I was a kid before ever seeing anime, so nostalgia somewhat overrides the immense suck factor). Ah well, to each his own.Saiyan-Professor wrote:I am just happy that someone finally recognizes that I am indeed a target, yet I also been called a “whack job” on here as well but I do not sweat it I will just continue being the dub, GT, DBE loving whack job target.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I love it for two reasons it posits a Kakarrot/"Goku” I actually like and the second is my loving it irritates those that target me and call me a whack job.Onikage725 wrote:...Wait, I knew about the others, but DBE is on the list too? If people can't act kindly and respectful toward each other, I certainly have no problem locking the thread after 190 pages. The discussion has absolutely run its course, as far as I can tell.

Oh, did that sound disrespectful? Sorry, I was just saying things at random. I didn't really mean anything by that. =P Vegeta and Professor are both pretty cool guys, in my opinion.
So hey, what does everyone think of Evolution's take on Yamcha? Everyone seems to generally agree that Roshi and Bulma are okay and Chatku sucks, but opinions on the desert bandit seem to be scattered.
And add me to the list of people that think Wolf Fang Drill was a good joke. Sucks that Yamcha never used the move past the 23rd Budokai.

I think he's more or less referring to that unpleasant drama from earlier. Not what you said.Dr. Casey wrote:Oh, did that sound disrespectful? Sorry, I was just saying things at random. I didn't really mean anything by that. =P Vegeta and Professor are both pretty cool guys, in my opinion.

His comedic side was emphasized a bit too much if you ask me, but I really didn't have any problem with him.Dr. Casey wrote:So hey, what does everyone think of Evolution's take on Yamcha? Chatwin was okay to me too. He was kinda annoying in the beginning (but was funny, at least), but it was nice to see him becoming closer to the Goku we know as the film progressed. Still not entirely so, but a lot more similar than at the outset.

Didn't even notice the Yamcha question. It was alright, I guess. Just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too Sabat-esque for my taste.

Worst character in the film, hands down. I don't know if it's the characterization, the awful acting Joon Park puts out(though, to be fair, I don't have any exposure to the kind of actor he is, so he may be playing the part perfectly, but the character the movie staff created just sucked), or both.
The movie starts to enter dullsville once Roshi is found, and when we get to Yamcha, it legitimately becomes groan-worthy.
Also, though I didn't really care, Yamcha looks the least like his basis character than anyone else, design-wise. That is apparently a huge thing with a lot of folks here, isn't it?

I think a major part of it was the actor. I just can't see James Kyson Lee (The other guy who auditioned, AKA Ando on Heroes) acting like the Yamcha we got from Park.
