I don't see how this is possible when they haven't been playing manga counterparts. They were portraying characters created by James Wong and Ben Ramsey that were meant to vaguely resemble the manga counterparts.

Honestly, I've watched the dub many times and aside from Yamcha saying bro a couple of times in Z, I would have never pegged him as a surfer.
It's most notable in season 3. He has an incredibly stereotypical surfer dude accent but he quickly looses it in the android arc.

Well, I think Joon Park's Yamcha voice would've worked IF they got somebody else to play Yamcha. The reason it was so bad was that how Joon Park looked at Yamcha didn't fit the surfer voice.

I mean if he at least had a minute long battle with Goku where he does the Roga Fu fu ken, I would have been happy. I actually have no feelings for Yamcha in the Manga/Anime, I personally don't care for him at all and he is down there with Chaozu for character I care about the least, yet I thought he was cool in the movie...
If Vegeta and Nappa arrives in the sequel, perhaps Yamcha will begin training at that training compound with all the other human fighters in preparation for the battle. I wonder will only Vegeta and Nappa will be the only foes or somehow Freeza shows up (chasing Nappa and Vegeta) and they all gang up on him… here is a thought what if Vegeta and “Goku” go Super Saiyan at the same moment and the battle turn out to be something that resembles animated Movie #6.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Chatwin said, the sequel has more "fighters"... Krillin, no doubt.

I can see them introducing another powerful fighter. Krillin was introduced in the second saga of the series. It fits in a convoluted, grossly overlapping way. I can see it being set at a tournament with Piccolo, Krillin, and Chi-Chi... Maybe that's when they're interrupted by Radditz.

I think JAPPO said a while back that Raditz was not going to be in the sequel.

That didn't make a bit of sense.
That it didn't make sense to you says more about you than about me.

This is your personal opinion only, not fact.
I think the actors did ok, with a better script and direction they could have been good. Do you understand how much the writing and directing really matter? Seems like you don't.
Whatever makes you feel comfortable. A bad script doesn't make you a bad actor. BAD ACTING makes you a BAD ACTOR.
I don't see how this is possible when they haven't been playing manga counterparts. They were portraying characters created by James Wong and Ben Ramsey that were meant to vaguely resemble the manga counterparts.
You have a point, but I was rather pointing out how weak the acting was in general. You can't blame a bad script and bad directing for plain terrible acting. Otherwise any random idiot would be able to be a great actor given a great script and director.

That was when Piccolo told Goku he was a Saiyan (it was in the script, video game, etc.) Now that they cut that out of the movie (the theatrical version at least) I don't know.

Well let me point out this much. I don't entirely disagree with you (though I don't think they were all bad). But these people weren't the ones cutting the paychecks. They were working under supervision. Someone (Wong) told them how he wanted a scene to come out, let them take a crack at it, and then decided if that's what he wanted. And most of the cast has flexed notable acting chops in other works. What's the common denominator here? Shitty direction = shitty movie.

As for how one could have hopes for a decent sequal- I've seen it before. the live-action Guyver is a baaaad movie, and it's sequal is decent (if you can accept the Guyver with a Kamen Rider flair). It helps that Guyver 1 is played by Solid Snake in the sequal. I'd personally add the X-Men movies. The first X-Men doesn't suck as a film, but as a fan it really doesn't do it for me anymore. The second movie is one of my favorite comic movies. Much improved over its predecessor. So, stranger things have happened. My main problem with this movie, in so far as a sequal is concerned, is that there's barely anything to grow on. Did that feel like a complete movie to anyone? So little was explained and it felt incredibly short.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

That's pretty bad for a company to differ their releases so much. People who aren't fans of the series could get seriously confused. Anything else that was 'excluded' from the film?

Then again, maybe they are just using this as an 'extended cut' for a DVD release.....

Really, he'd just have to change the word "actor" on his pink shirt to "man", and he'd look perfect for the role.

For Vegeta, what about the guy who played Lex Luthor in Smallville? Just a thought I had.

And if they somehow DID get Goldberg for Nappa...this movie would already have my $9.50. :D
