The funeral thing is a bit of an overreaction. The concept is funny. But actually acting it out, and recording it, its a little ridiculous. It would have been really funny as a webcomic or a short flash animation.

No thank you, when you squint and hold up the peace sign for photos, eat pocky non-stop and use random Japanese mixed into your English you deserve to be called a moron.

However the tern "Otaku" is used loosely nowadays. It's thrown around in situations like "OMG U LOVE YUGIOH AAAAAND DARGONBALL UR SUCH AN OTAKU!"

For the record being an "Otaku" isn't a compliment, it's actually more of an insult that has been severely misinterpreted in American culture.
Maybe it's not a huge insult but I'm really sick of people dancing around and screaming "OMG I LIKE 4 ANIMES I'm SUCH AN OTAKU!"

I don't think there's much need to lock the thread... this doesn't seem like a disagreement that will go too far. I mean, it's already gone too far, but I mean, not one that will last a long time. Just overreacting from both sides, too be honest.
