Yesterday I read on Jappo's forum that Ben Ramsey said that the first draft of his script didn't have any highschool scenes at all but rather a prologue about Piccolo's reign over earth...

It got dropped due to budget restraints or something like that.

I read that too. Its do depressing I would've much preferred the "Piccolo's reign" prologue. This whole debacle makes me think of:
"You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody..."

I really do kinda feel bad about everything that happened. I really wanted to see a genuinely exciting live action DB movie.

If they ever make another; they NEED to give their villain more screen time. I think that was the major flaw their Piccolo had. He was barely in the movie. You need to have him bump heads with Goku at least once before they have their final big battle.

Why were so many things dropped from the final product? :(
Because it was suddenly turned into a children's movie.

That's terrible bad luck. :(

I know this movie would've had more room to breath in both plotline and the speed of the plot (more exposition for Piccolo please!!) if it'd been PG-13 like most other superhero/comic-adapted-into-a-live-action-movie films these days.

The script I have is most likely PG-13. It does have two moments where a character says "shit," and the final fight at the end is rather long and brutal - I believe I said 14-15 pages. Including dialogue, though.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I feel that in order for the sequel to not flop like it's predecessor did, it must have an extended amount of time of filming, no James Wong, and a better marketing plan. Oh, and let's not forget a better script. :?

Son says "Oh Shhh---", after knocking the wrong Chi Chi out, remember?

Very much agreed. I do believe a live action DB film can work, they just need to do what you mentioned there.

I'd also replace a few of the actors, I wasn't satisfied with some of them.

And I forgot ALL ABOUT that 14 to 15 page final battle in the script. O_O
What happened to that battle anyways? Is it safe to post it now that the movie's out? Why did they cut out all mentions of Kakarrotto and the saiyajins in the final film?

The talk about the Saiya-Jin and Piccolo using the name "Kakarot", is all in the game(How ironic. The source material lies in the shitty game that no one really wants). And remember when Chung said that they re-shot the final battle? What if that "re-shoot" of the battle is the one that was used in theaters, due to the movie's "PG" rating? Any thoughts on that?

I don't have a PSP, so I couldn't play the game anyways.

That'd be awful if the re-shoot was to replace some amazing, PG-13, extensive final battle against Piccolo with that ridiculously short 5 minute mini-fight. TT_TT

One of the things I really wanted to see in this movie was a big marital arts battle in the style of the original Dragon Ball. :(

It's all probably gonna be on the DVD. And how many of you have heard about this "Neo Piccolo", from the PSP game?

I was in New York last week for vacation and decided to watch the movie again in Times Square. I found it much more enjoyable the 2nd time around and the NYC crowd seemed to like it a lot more than the CA crowd from my experience.

Most people won't believe I went to see it twice. :P

Who seems to be DBE's Ma Junior?

I think I need like an Avatar or something so people can tell who I am. I'll take some snaps of his Story Mode, and some of the arcade battles tonight. They'll be up either today, or tommorrow.

Perhaps it's from the "Reborn" script? Odd they would include it in a PSP game.

I like that thought but I swear that battle better take place in the early part of the movie because I must see Vegeta in DB. Reborn.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

No. This "Neo Piccolo" seems to be an unfinished design. He favors the original a little too much. I'm sure that his appearance will change, by the time "Reborn" comes out.

Wow. So their really going to make a sequel? Dragon Ball: Reborn? Why can't they just call it Dragon Ball Z? Just by calling it Dragon Ball Z they'd get more people in those seats....
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

If it's held in your heart then you can't let go.
