O' The Lies We Were Told (My 1500th Post Spectacular!)

Well this is my 1500th post, here on the Daizenshuu EX forum. I'm very glad to have become a member of this well established forum. But I should stop rambling and should get on to my topic: Over my 1 year and 4 months of being a member of this forum, there is one thing that I haven't been feed by other members on this forum. You know what those things are? Lies(Excluding April Fools). I have not been given false information once on this forum. And yet, I got them on almost every other Dragonball-related fansite/forum. So this leads to my main question: What are some of the lies that you guys have been told, throughout your time as "Dragonball Fans"? And for how long did you believe them?

Mr. Buu was the babysitter for Pan. I was told that after being given some weird holo card with a still of Buu and Pan at the 28th SutHT.

I don't know, I guess I just forgot about it and then learned it wasn't true.

(Is that what people call "CARDDASS?" Rally awkward DB cards with Spanish on them?)

I remember once seeing this picture that showcased Goku, Trunks, Vegeta, and Gohan from the Cell arc standing around next to their Super Saiyan selves and the picture was captioned, "Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, and their cousins."

I didn't buy it.

Also, a friend of mine from High School (while still in High School) always used to tell me about how he was so excited about the Evil Goku Saga and how he couldn't wait for them to finally get to it. I didn't know everything about Dragonball by that point, but I had never heard of an Evil Goku Saga.

I didn't buy it.

Then there was the time FUNimation told us that they weren't cropping the picture. I almost bought it, but I made sure to wait it out and see what the videophiles on here had to say before I made my final decision on the matter.

I was once told that Trunks could turn into a lion, Son Goku could become a Dragon(Somewhat true), and Vegeta could turn into some kind of bull.

That Goku was actually the father of Chibi Trunks and his name wasn't Trunks at all, it was Gotrunks while Mirai Trunks was the son of Vegeta.

This was really stupid in that back in elementary school my friends and I would play Dragon Ball Z and pretend to be the characters and a friend of mine was angry that he couldn't be Trunks any more because the other kid who was Gotrunks had to be Trunks now that I had found out the lie and I needed him for fusion (Hell yeah I was Goten!). Stupid kids who didn't know about time travel >.<

Yeah, I was and still am I nerd.

1) "The SSJ3 Kid is Gohan, a year or two after the Cell Games." Luckily I was introduced to Gotenks through scanslatons before this rumor became "fact."

2) Paikuhan is Piccolo's brother.

3) Cell claimed he was Piccolo's brother because Piccolo fused with Nail, and Cell was to Nail as Piccolo Daimao was to Kami.

4) Gohan is named after his grandfather because he is his reincarnation.

5) Bardock is a fitzroy (bastard child of King Vegeta's father and a Low Level Saiyan woman), which is why he's so strong.

6) Bardock used to be considered a member of the Elite.

7) Selypa is Goku's mom/aunt/oldest sibling.

Toma is Bardock's brother.

9) The reason Vegeta can't go SSJ3 is because it's the Legendary Super Saiyan. I'd love for this to be true, but Gotenks prooved it's not.

10) Kibito is the Dai Kaio. That's why he's not a Kaioshin and has a role different from the regular Kaio.

11) Dabura is a Kaioshin who works for Babidi only because of the Majin spell. Technically true!

EDIT: Oh crap, ones we believed? I believed the Cell and Bardock-fitzroy rumors until I got the Tankoubon that explained Cell's origin and until I got my own copy of the Bardock special.

I used to play "Pretend DBZ" with my friends, in Kindergarten. I'd get angry when I had to be Trunks, because upon his first appearance, FUNi's Dragonball Z website said that he was a villain.

Wait, seriously? That seems really bad, even for FUNi. Does anyone have a screencap of this?

I remember those! The site said Trunks was Cold's adopted son, right?

As for the "palm fusion," the version I heard was that it was a completely Fed up fusion dance that produced Skinny Gogeta.

I can actually see this being responsible for a skinny Gogeta:

Goku: "Fuuuuuu-SION"
Vegeta: "We look so stupid!"
Goku: "Saying that messed up the dance!"
Both: "HA!" **as they punch each other**
Kaio: "Won't saying 'Fusion Ha" result in a-"
BOM! Skinny Gogeta.

oh the lies I have heard...

Goku and Vegeta are brothers(never bought it)

Gohan can go SS3(bought it for alittle while)

GT is going to be so Awesome(fell for that one hard)

Goten and Trunks fuse in GT(fell for this one too)

theres a Super Sayain 5 and AF is real(I busted that April Fools thing the first time I heard it)

Pan will go Super Saiyan in GT(bought it)

there are no female sayians(I lol'd at the kid who said that)

Future Trunks is in the Buu saga(bought it)

Tapion's sword was the one that future Trunks uses.
Gogeta's name was Vegegoku (didn't buy this at all...what a weird thing to think.)

Rumors I accidentally started-

Freeza was a female.
Buu doesn't necessarily have to absorb Gotenks in Budokai two.
( I would have bet my bottom dollar this event was avoidable.)
