Fight Club irony

Post by Sun_Wukong » Tue Nov 30, 2004 10:45 am

Has anyone seen the add for the new Fight Club video game? It goes something like

You are not your magic fireball

You are not your fancy costume ....

Not exactly sure on the rest, Ill scan it later. Anyway, anyone else find this kindve ironic?

The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
Fight Club's supposed to be more "realistic."

Am I missing something when I find no irony?

"You are not your Fight Club DVD."
When I first read that in a print ad, I thought it was pretty witty. Now it's just been overused. Gets kinda dull after a while.

I think he's trying to say that it sounds like it mocks DBZ. But really, it's poking fun at most of the fighting games out there.

Which is sad, because the Fight Club game sucks royal dick.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Well I got that much, but I'm failing to see the irony.

BUT THAT quibble aside, it's funny to know the game itself blows.

If the game is anywhere close to being as good as the movie I will have pick up a copy of it, but from what I'm hearing the game is based on the movie but is a crapper version. And the saying for the Fight Club theme(Tyler Durden) is "You are not the cloths you wear", "You Are not the Contents of your wallet", You are not your bowel cancer", You are not the car you drive"and so on and so forth which I'm sure you all know it any ways. Just for the record Fight Club is the best movie ever in my thoughts, that and Donnie Darko.
