Release date for DBZ Season 9
I have come across a site revealing the release date for Season 9. DBZ Season 9 comes out on May 19, 2009. This Season 9 contains Fusion and Kid Buu sagas. It seems that time passes so quickly since Season 1 first released in February 2007. Thank you, Funimation, for producing such a high quality and remastered DBZ and release them for us to view. We hope in the future Funimation will release Dragon Ball Kai with an original group giving voice again, new awesome scores, and better quality than what Toei Animation has offered.

My season five came this morning
I can agree with you, The picture quality is pretty amazing, I actually DO love my orange brick boxsets!
I do miss some of the old soundtrack, It would have been nice for Funi to keep Rock the Dragon. Still.. Can't complain I suppose.

Rock the Dragon was one of the best song Funimation had made in past decade!saiyanprincess wrote:My season five came this morning![]()

One thing that shocks me is that Funimation handled DBGT Season Boxsets better than DBZ Remastered
But DBGT did show some improvements.

Maybe I'm just weird, but background music has never had a conscious impact on my viewing experience, I realize that is does have an affect, but I don't pay attention enough to realize the subtleties. Is it just me?DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Rock the Dragon was one of the best song Funimation had made in past decade!saiyanprincess wrote:My season five came this morning![]()

One thing that shocks me is that Funimation handled DBGT Season Boxsets better than DBZ RemasteredI mean Vic sang the song for DBGT openings and endings, not DBZ

Also, I LOVED Rock The Dragon; it has a real nostalgia factor now, especially since it is nowhere to be found.

It's pretty amazing that all these sets are going to be released by May. It seems like only yesterday that they were released to more than mixed reviews. Even though they have their fair share of flaws, they have served the purpose of having every episode released in the same format (voices, music, correct episode numbering). So I guess it's time to start the countdown until FUNimation decides to re-re-re-release (likely missing a few "re's) the series again!

Well, FUNi tends to put more work into anything not DBZ, so GT didn't surprise me. That and FUNi needed a way to make sure GT sold again, and the dubbing of the theme songs was just the way to do it.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Rock the Dragon was one of the best song Funimation had made in past decade!saiyanprincess wrote:My season five came this morning![]()

GT is underrated and the International Channel will always be my favorite channel for foreign programming. I still miss it.

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
DB DBox color corrections & DBox color corrections.

I'm sure they'll churn out a Blu-Ray version at some point. We know that the fans will buy it, but I'm skeptical about how their Blu-Ray releases would turn out. With their track record, it wouldn't surprise me if they went back and did the season sets in full-screen. To me, it would be a waste of their resources to do such a thing, since they have invested so much in their Widescreen sets.ect5150 wrote:You mean the Blu-Ray versions of them now.GroundZero0215 wrote:So I guess it's time to start the countdown until FUNimation decides to re-re-re-release (likely missing a few "re's) the series again!

Really? I mean, honestly, if you've got the bricks or the Dragonboxes. why would you buy the series again on a much more expensive format?GroundZero0215 wrote:. We know that the fans will buy it
The only legit reason I can think of is if you run a site like this or Kanzentai, and want to do a comparison. Aside from that, why waste your money on something you already have?

I can say that I wouldn't buy the Blu-Ray releases. But I am quite sure that there are many people out there that would. It's on a different format, and people would just eat it up. Only my opinion here, but I just think that there are many gullible fans out there. If you dangle something shiny and new in front of their faces, they'll grab it.Saiyavenger2941 wrote:Really? I'm one of the hardcore fans that will always buy the newly released DB merchadises, although I wish I had buy DBZ action figures back when I was a kid (in 2000s)GroundZero0215 wrote:I can say that I wouldn't buy the Blu-Ray releases. No, I am not going to buy every single of DBZ Blu-Ray. I will buy one of the Season sets. It's for my collection. I have so much DBZ stuff, you will be surprised. I wish I own all DBZ stuff there is in the worldSaiyavenger2941 wrote:Well then, you're wasting your money. I am surprised we have finally reached the end. I too was convinced that Funimation would stop releasing these box sets at some point and start doing something else. Once I pick this up, and my Madman Dragonball Part 1 set come, I will have all of Dragonball-GT. Yea!
And even though I own all the movies already, I have been picking up the steelbox releases, so once the last one comes out I'll have all of those too.

Same goes to Toei Animation.GroundZero0215 wrote:I would have loved if they just released the series correctly in one shot. Then we all wouldn't have to shell out the money for each iteration of it. No matter what FUNimation does, they'll never ever release a correct, perfect collection of the series. And that is a sad thing.

Before anyone says "ZOMG DRAGONBOX", remember that GT lacks stereo despite the fact that animax reruns have it. :pDragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Same goes to Toei Animation.GroundZero0215 wrote:I would have loved if they just released the series correctly in one shot.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
