DBGT remastered menu music
The music that plays on the menus in the Dragonball GT remastered season sets is from the dub right? Is there any specific reason they removed the dub score then? It seems like a weird thing for Funi to do. Was there some legal reason behind it? It just strikes me weird they left the dub music in for the menus and then decided to omit it completely from the show.

Yeah that seems plausible. What do you mean there wasn't a place for the dub music though?SSj_Rambo wrote:Emitting the dub score makes sense, since there wasn't really a place for it. I'm guessing that a dub piece was used for the menu because there was a legal issue with using the Japanese score out of context, or in any other footage besides the episodes themselves.

While I agree isn't that kind of subjective? Or does virtually nobody in the entire fanbase like the DBGT dub music?Saiyavenger2941 wrote:I think that's his way of saying it sucked.NeptuneKai wrote:Yeah that seems plausible. I had no problem with it, and honestly, I'd say "Step Into The Grand Tour" falls into "so bad it's good" territory, so... I guess I'm one of those very rare exceptions.NeptuneKai wrote:While I agree isn't that kind of subjective? I just mean that they probably couldn't justify including it in the release; either because there was a space issue on the discs, or some ownership disputes, or a lack of a fan-base for the dub music or maybe FUNi was just embarrassed about it.NeptuneKai wrote:Yeah that seems plausible. Is it really missing entirely from the sets? I could have sworn that there were three audio tracks... I've never switched over to that god awful racket, but I thought that it was included in the sets...
Sure you're not thinking of just the missing "Step Into the Grand Tour?" I know for sure that that isn't on the sets.

We're talking about the GT Season 1 and Season 2 sets, right? I don't know what you're watching, but mine have dub scores over the menus and the English voices w/dub score as audio option 2 of 3. I just checked it. The audio options are: (1) Dub + J-BGM, (2) Dub + Dub BGM, (3) Japanese Ver. And the menus certainly do have some dub music playing. I can't tell you where in the series it comes from, but it's at least stylistically recognizable.
EDIT: Wait a minute. Are you talking about the original intro song, "Step into the Grand Tour"? (This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tH3Z2NYxak) If so, that wasn't included for the same reason the Faulconer song "Dragonball Z" wasn't included as an intro for the Z season sets - Funi opted to go with the original animation, and both of the dub openings were new and edited to about a minute, whereas the original animations were about a minute and a half. Therefore, regardless of which dub audio track you listen to on the Z sets, you get Mark Menza's DBZ opening from the movies because it was the right length, and likewise, regardless of which track you listen to on the GT sets, you get the dubbed version of Dan Dan. The reason those were different on the singles was that Funi used alternate angles for them, but it chose not to do so now.

The DUB + DUB music is definitely there. I am also assuming you are referring to the intro song only. The reason it was removed is because they didn't want to have the multiple angle option so rather than screw over the Japanese audio fans, they chose to screw over the five people who liked the English intro song. They made the right decision in my opinion.

Re: DBGT remastered menu music
I don't get it, I have remastered GT and it's the same case as the Z sets. Footage containing original japanese audio, english audio with japanese BGM and english audio with Mark Menza's dub score, so where is that missing dub score from series if it isn't on one of the 3 layers included on this DVD's??NeptuneKai wrote:The music that plays on the menus in the Dragonball GT remastered season sets is from the dub right?
