I may not have been paying attention, but the whole "mystics made the Dragon Balls" was legend, right? So, technically, they can write in Kami? Or did they actually show a mystic in the film?

The seven mystics created the Mafuba and imprisoned Piccolo 2,000 years ago. They did not have nothing to do with the Dragonballs. Even Goku is more related with Dragonballs than the mystics were. :P

I think they were supposed to be the ancestors of the ones shown in the film, but I'm not entirely sure on that.

Now, I wonder if Radditz will even be in the potential sequel. Who could play him?

Now that I think about it. Saiyan armor would look pretty cool in real life.

The one on the right. John Morrison. He's got the physique, the attitude, and the hair. (Well, as close to the hair as we can probably realistically expect.)
I actually believe that this guy could be a decent Raditz.

But can he act? Judging from the profession he currently has I'd say he isn't a very good actor.

Not all wrestlers are bad actors. Case in point, Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson. He's become a leading man in Hollywood since retiring from the ring.

And on the show, Morrison plays a cocky heel (villain), similar to Raditz, and plays it very well if I do say so myself. Also, the fight scenes could be a lot of fun with Morrison in the role.

Yes, yes. I know it's mostly Disney. Still he's a top draw.

True, but then again, Umaga's pinky toe is better than Cena.

Leave John Cena alone.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I found this clip in another forum. I did not know there were Independence Day blips in DBE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIxy-A-cmzo

Of course this raises questions like "How huge of a movie buff do you have to be to spot something that quick?" and "Why did FOX use footage from another movie and photoshop it up a bit instead of making up a new explosion shot?".

Though I guess its not completely uncommon; I've seen this one clip on YouTube where Disney rips off of themselves in their animated movies multiple times by copy-pasting new characters overtop of old ones.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh84g8rC2oA
On hiatus.

Ha! I've seen ID4 a hundred times, I spotted the scenes in the first runthrough of the DBE clip.

For the second question... ID4 is the movie people think of when you bring up "shit blowing up" in film.

Thought I saw a bit of Armageddon in there too, at :42. Compare to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSzYGdKpoZg at 6:36. That might just be two scenes of similar things looking similar though.

Ah. I'm not much of a movie buff in general (though I've learned a lot about the process of making them over the past couple years thanks to this) so I wouldn't have noticed that at all. ^^;

OMG it's Paris.
That one does look really similar, but I think its a different explosion because of what buildings are down below. I don't remember seeing the Eiffel Tower in the DBE one, or the gargoyles from (I'm assuming the Notre Dame?).
On hiatus.

What about the meteor impact in "Deep Impact":

At 0:43 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGWMs5cd ... re=related

Does that remind you something? :P

EDIT

I noticed the shot in the trailer, of a meteor hitting in the water, isn't in the movie. Just the meteor hitting in the ground.

It's especially funny because the Independence Day clips just show up in little flashes in a dream-type thing- it's almost as if they're trying to subconsciously get you to associate DBE with a much better movie or something.

It is at this point that I now request Aerosmith to do the next movie's theme, and for Goku to be played by Will Smith.

Yeah right and next we will have a black Superman (Steel does not count) or Batman, this is the United States we are talking about here.
