That's surreal.
Nice little salute there, Toei.
On hiatus.

Glad I wasn't the only one to notice. Isn't it cool? People really don't give Toei enough credit. Sure they stumble occassionaly but compared to the good they do, it can't even register.

Is this good?!

Just show how Toei does not have imagination at all and basically screwed up the fight between two already shitty characters.

I have to disagree given the mood of the ending I think that this was appropriate. It demonstrates that things have not changed so much post time skip and the new generation is carrying on the flame.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Guess not only that did not changed but the audience too.

I realized this years ago, and thought that everyone had noiced this.
I even made a musicvideo that compared those two fights.
Funny thing is that that old guy that looked at them either got younger in the future, or it's his son/grandson that we see glaring.
I think that either it was a reference to that the Saiya-jin spirit never dies, or that they just were lazy and reused the fight, hoping that noone would realize.

No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

I think they're paying homage. Saying that Vegeta and Son's lineage are still going at it.

I don't think there's any doubt it was intentional. 'Can't really be a coincidence.
But was it laziness? Was it meant to be noticed by the viewers? Both?

neat little find, I'm not sure if I should praise this as being homage to DBZ or scorn toei for being lazy...either way this is interesting. However I dont know how many times Iv said this but I hate the coloring job toei did with GT it looks crappy and washed out.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I think this is just another case of Toei digging through old DB/DBZ episodes in order to find something to recycle.

To just happen to use this footage down the same line of descendants, with each side playing the same side with the same framing? It may have started as "let's just find something" but it definitely became a bit of a homage.

That's way cool. I have to admit I've never caught on to that. I agree with those who feel it's unmistakeably an homage. It seems they were trying to bring the series to a very sentimental close by drawing parallels between the descendents and their forefathers. I love sentimentality. *Sighs*

So heartwarming.

Vegeta and Goku Jr. are more defined in the muscle department then Kid Trunks and Son Goten. That says a lot, the descendents that are far removed from the pure Saiyan blood take their training more seriously than those that were half Saiyan. I wonder does the Super Saiyan gene show up every so many generations now.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I think the muscle thing is only because the animation itself has been tweeked. If you look, the faces, eye shape, and generally everything has been more stylized. I wouldn't say that it is a sign of anything more than a different art style. Like the Dragon Ball: Path to Power movie. Goku looks a lot more streamlined and developed than in the beginning of the Dragon Ball series even though it's supposed to be the same character at the same time and pretty much the same story...even though it wasn't.

Well that's cause they basically drew him as GT Goku, wearing the GT outfit and all.....
