You're getting technical, Pain. At first glance, Krillin's pretty short.

At the start Krillin is really a midget. No way to turn it around.

 Well...yeah. I mean the guy is 5' at the age of 30. And I'm about 5'4 or 5'5, at 14, and I've never seen a grown man shorter than me(Excluding all midgets),so maybe he is kinda....down there. :P

I think James Marsters should be given the role of producer or creative consultant. He's proven himself to be a fan, but more than that he thinks outside the box and has producing experience.

I've seen the Movie and Wow...

Ok, first off I enjoyed it, but most of that comes from:
A: I was expecting it to have no Redeeming Qualities whatsoever
B: my friends and I were the ONLY ONES IN THE THEATRE so we could do Running commentary and we got a kick outta it.

My thoughts?

Chatku was TERRIBLE, My god... he had his in-character moments, but 70% of him in the movie was just BAD.
Roshi was Awesome, he was the best part of the Movie. I loved how when he got on the bike with Bulma, he had his hand on her butt.
Speaking of Bulma She was... OK... I didn't like how she had no knowledge of the Dragon Balls, but whatever.
Yamucha... Oh My god, he was terrible. I kept expecting him to pull out a Surf Board and proclaim "Whoa, lets go surf some Tubular Waves Brah". His role in the story was spot-on, just the Dialog he was given and how he read it...
Marsters as Piccolo can't really be judged since... he wasn't in more than 5 minutes of this movie...

I loved all the little nods to the series though. I love how Chatku met Bulma at his house while she was looking for the DBs, she shoots at him and he doesn't seem phased by it at all. Sure the roles were reversed as far as which person knew more about the Dragon Balls, but it still went mostly the same way. Bulma asks for the Dragon Ball, She shoots at him, Dragon Balls get explained, they set off to find them, Chatku becomes her "Bodyguard".
I loved how Mai actually called Chatku "Son Goku". It made me happy after years of Saban and FUNi acting like Son didn't have a surname.
I loved Roshi's Perverted tendencies. they were WAY toned down, but they were DEFINITELY there. I loved how Bulma threatened to take off his hand, so later when he catches her, he realizes his hand is on her butt so he drops her like she's hot! XD Also the running with the Garbage on his back, Chatku eating weird things, Capsule Corp getting mentioned. etc.

Overall, I'd give it a 6/10, but only because of my Friends and I enjoying our Making fun of it and Running commentary.
Without that, I'd give it a 2 or 3/10

Anyone else find it interesting with the X-Men talk, as Saban did X-men before, and during their time on DBZ. Only difference is while people talk badly or look back fondly about Saban's work on DBZ, they liked what they did on X-Men. Then again, they did try to edit out death on DBZ, whereas they made a guy on X-Men to die, and only brought him back because a lot of guys liked him and wrote letters to do so.

JAPPO, can you find explanation to why Marsters interviews tell a different story than the one in the actual movie regarding Piccolo's past?

I don't know, maybe that's what he wanted, or maybe it's what the director told him / wanted but never implemented it.

Well, Box Office Mojo's saying:
Domestic Total as of May. 6, 2009: $9,004,879
Meaning it's been almost a month and hasn't even broken double-million digits, domestic-wise.

It does not matter as long as it make more than the budget overall and we get the sequel green-lit. I am waiting on Vegeta and some “Z” action. :D
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Wow, Fullmetal Alchemist was number 9? I don't really think that would be very cool in live action.

You realise the character of Vegeta will exist in name only? Also no fucking way in hell this gets a sequal. Marlon Wayans was suppose to play Robin in Batman Forever. He signed a contract amd got paid but it never happened. Fox greenlit a Revenge of the Nerds remake and had evn began production and it got scrapped. Breaking even worldwide will not cut it.

Unless they knew it would fail at the start so they gave a terrible budget, did horrible marketing, and had low expectations, only so that they could do an amazing DBZ movie sequel that they knew would do better... Doesn't make much business sense, but in terms of blind optimism...

I can't imagine a company would make a movie knowing it will fail...Just so they can make a sequel. Some of you guys gotta wake up and surpass this denial stuff. There isn't gonna be a sequel. Ever. Even if there was you'd think they'd say something about it sooner or later. I hope nobody wasted money on that hat.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Slam Dunk would actually be pretty awesome as a Live-Action movie. That, and it would be pretty easy to do.

Look I do not care what they do to Vegeta really, the only time you would hear me complain if: 1. He is easily defeated and 2. He behaves like the manga/anime Kakarrot/“Goku”. I know its every super fan’s job to shit on others parade but hey allow me the chance to be optimistic. The super fans said that the film would not exceed its budget but it did…stranger things can happen.

They exceeded their budget and the Variety article said a while back that the film was doing as Fox expected. They did not have high expectations to begin with, we still have to count DVD sells etc. I do not see any reason why they would not make a sequel, not every Dragonball fan had a bitch fit over the movie. Some of us actually liked it (a lot), and most of the negative comments I received on my end about it was that Vegeta was not in it and no Super Saiyans. Add those elements and a slightly bigger budget they should fare far better than last time.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.
