Questions about Yamhan/Tiencha

When Budokai 2 came out, i was really surprised to see that they had created a fusion for Yamcha and Tenshinhan. They even had a special stage in the Japanese version of Budokai 2. Does somebody know who came up with that idea and why ?

I also wonder what Toriyama thinks about Tiencha.

Tiencha had his own special stage? Sweet. Can someone please post some info about it.

Seeing as how Tiencha is over a year old, I'm sure Mr. Toriyama would have said something about him by now. Though I myself would like to hear his thoughts about the character.

While I myself would be interested to know what Toriyama-sensai's opinion on Yamhan [Tiencha] is, I wouldn't expect that he even knows about it. Consider the fact that he can already remember very little about DragonBall, and various characters that he himself designed and no longer remembers, and the fact that there's little chance that he plays videogames (DBZ games at that). It would be great if somebody brought the character to Toriama's attention though.

There are only two "extra-stages" as far as I know of; the first is a special Neko Majin Z themed playing board, and an alternate tournament arena with the V-Jump! logo plastered everywhere, which was only included on the special V-Jump! version of DBZ2.

What i meant by "extra stage" was that in one of the stages (the Neko Majin Z stage), Tiencha (Yamhan) is a character you can have on your team, there is even a little dialogue at the beginning of the stage where Tenshinhan and Yamcha fuse with Goku acting surprised on the side.

I'd love to hear what Goku said when he saw them fuse, and it makes more sense than them just having the ability to fuse.
