Oh totally, NeptuneKai, I agree 100%. I was talking about the same old same that we get in almost all games. Just a rehash of the same story we all know. Most games give us one or two what-ifs and I like those a lot. Burst Limit's Bardock goes to earth was a cool story. Tenkaichi 3's Android 16 goes back in time was also very cool.

Budokai 2 was the one that's storymode was basically made up entirely of what-if scenarios. It was loosely based on Dragon Ball Z, but it was set up like a board game and it changed a lot of stuff. It started with Radditz and Nappa landing on earth, planting Saibamen then searching for the Dragon Balls. It had some other cool stuff like Majin Freeza and Tiencha played a part (although I've never played that far that myself only read about it). It's a shame it was so boring.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think that this game will be incredible. There is a definite improvement in the character models. Their eyes follow each other and they have a lot of detail in them. I'm sure that the environments will look better when the final product is released(When is that, again?).

I think this game could be really good... or it could be really mediocre. Looking at Dragonball video game history shows us that the first game in a new series will almost always be terrible, but then you look at the two exceptions with Infinite World and Burst Limit. Infinite World was carrying a new title but was still the same game series as Budokai and worked out pretty well. Burst limit was also carrying a new title, but was still the same basic Budokai format.

Could go either way.

I want an endless amount of characters added, all of the fighters from GT are needed, along with the absent movie characters.

Infinite World was very cheap and clunky. It was considerably worse than Final Bout, in a way. Burst Limit, on the other hand, was a pretty good starter for the new title.

I'm tellin' ya: All we need for the Sparking series to be prefect is uniqueness to each character.

You know what I'd like to get? 3 separate series. Dragonball , Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT as 3 separate series.

Dragonball they have the change to do them like wii. Fun platform games.

Dragonball Z - biggest story, Most villains ect... Should be RPG series.

Dragonball GT - Short story. But loads of locations and ideas to be fleshed out more - Action RPG to draw from other two.

Then Something like this that they insist have DB and GT characters get rebranded, E.g DragonBall Universe : Raging Blast.

That would be an interesting take but wont happen.

RPG? Ew, no. I'd like DBZ to be more of an "Adventure" series, like Jak and Daxter, but better.

An RPG might work if you start at the very beginning. Goku meets Bulma and then work your way to the very end. The show itself feel RPG-ish with the with a heavy influence of increasing your power.

They kind of do, unless you mean the series of Naruto games on the Gamecube/Wii. Then that would be interesting.

But Ultimate Ninja Storm is basically budokai tenkaichi.(Well, not exactly, but the general idea is there.)

It play a lot like Tenkaichi, just on a smaller scale. I think it'd make for a GREAT early-DragonBall game.

Honestly, the Sparking series should drop the "OMG OVER 9000 CHARACTERS!" and select like, 20-25 (not including transformations) and make them all unique with their own special moves and strengths and weaknesses.

I dunno, while that would be great. Sparking!'s gimmick is that it has a slew of characters. I think Budokai/Burst Limit should be the ones to specialize in the smaller roster/more unique characters, and Sparking! should just focus on having all the characters for the fan service.

I just have to ask why infinite world so disliked?
I liked it,but of course not as much as budokai 3, but it was a good game,
if we don't count those unfair fights :x
it was just budokai 3 with shin budokai controls.
-"this is madness"
-"madness? no.. this..is.. dragonball!"

Yeah, but I prefer Sparking's battle system. If it was expanded upon it could easily be the greatest DB fighting game ever.

Lower the amount of characters.
Beef up the move sets, and actually make them more accurate.
Make the characters more unique.
Have Three on Three fights like Legends.

Now that would be awesome.

I beg your fucking pardon?
Final Bout = Slow as shit gameplay, broken to an extent (constantly havign to be at the same "level" as your opponent causes a lot of fling up and down, and making certain attacks easy to dodge. Horrendous graphics, by even the Playstation's standards, the music and opening were the only redeeming aspects of that mess.

Infinite World = Bad story mode (one up on Final bout, which didn't even HAVE a story mode), fast and furious 2D gameplay, you can fly, but as in Budokai 3, catching up to the opponent takes about a second. Fantastic graphics, great use of cel shading, all over. Nicely rendered cutscenes. Great music. Some of the mini-games actually have nice replay value (training rooms), a nice roster with a few new characters.
Sorry, but that statement you made is simply ridiculous.
Even if you're comparing these games by what was best at the time, Infinite World is still leaps and bounds beyond Final Bout.

DRAGON RUSH WAS TERRIBLE! The computer constantly spammed it! It was so annoying that I acutally don't play Budokai three anymore because of it.

Despite the annoying fact that the computer did sometimes spam it.(Though I never really had this problem), it was a nice little addition to the gameplay to spice things up.(Usually in versus mode)
